Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Longshot

What amount of Longshot with 180gr XTP bullet?

"The Turkey's Opinion" on YouTube has several nice videos on 10mm ammo tests - accuracy/chrono/gel - and one of the pistols is the 3.8" XDM-Elite. Lots of insight and good info.

The Turkey's Opinion has a video posted on September 11, 2022 that shows
3.8" XDM Elite - 1146 fps
5" Colt Delta Elite - 1213 fps

In another forum it was suggested that I try 8.0 grains of the latest - not the 9.5gr max version - version of Longshot. It is in the same area of burn rate as the powders mentioned here. Any thoughts?

Hello, again.
Couldn't fins 1lb of BE-86 locally or online, and 8lbs is excessive for experimenting. I'll keep looking. In the meantime I'll put together some Blue Dot cartridges to try. From what I've seen online I can expect some flash and boom.

I am curious about this in particular since the post is current/2023:
My usual load of the Gold Dot 180 with 9.5 Longshot
The current online load data I can find from Hodgdon and bullet makers shows 8.2 grains max.

Thanks for the welcome and for the suggestions. Special thanks to The Shadow for the specific powder charges. I'll give those a try.

Gear/Equipment / Big Changes Coming in MRDS?
April 10 2023 11:30:48 AM MDT
It seems that many pistol RDS are on sale now - Leupold, Holosun, Trijicon, Sig Sauer, Vortex, and others. Are changes in RDS on the way soon?

I'm trying to find a load that will have 180gr XTPs stay within 1150-1200 fps verified by chronograph out of 3.8" (XDM) or 4" (M&P 2.0) barrels.
Open to pretty much any currently obtainable powder and accuracy is not a high priority.
Thanks.
