I posted this several months ago:

Just days ago I got a RIA52008 (10mm 6" 8 round PRO Match) pistol and today I shot it with 100 rounds of Underwood 155 grain JHP using factory and MecGar magazines. No any hiccups or other undesirable surprises. Each and every single round was fed, fired and ejected perfectly. I was very happy with the results. Highly recommended!

As for that Girsan, I had sold it at Gunbroker at a minor loss.

Terdog, I strongly suggest selling it at any cost. I have sold mine at a loss! I am planning to get one from Rock Island (SKU 52008). I have a RI 5" model which performs perfectly.

Alright. It seems like an EGW firing pin stop is something I cannot pass. But browsing EGW website, I am hesitating about which model I should buy. Girsan 10mm has a fully adjustable rear sight and Series 70 internals. Is this the one I should purchase?

Thank you guys for your advice/suggestions! EAA wants me to send the pistol back for warranty repair, but I have decided to fix it in a DIY way. I am an FFL but both ways of shipping would cost me at least 70 bucks. I probably would start by swapping the firing pin spring. When I moved the FPS back into position the other day, I didn't feel any resistance at all, I guessed it might be due to an extremely weak firing pin spring. I have ordered a wolffe extra power spring from ebay for less than 10 bucks. I will take it out for shooting again sometime in March when it gets warm. If that doesn't work out, I will try swapping out the FPS plate with an EGW one. I didn't have prior experience in fitting a 1911 part, so I'd like to start from the easy one. By the way, I was shooting Underwood ammo when it got problems.

Last week I took out my newly acquired Girsan 10mm for shooting for the first time. Two issues prevented me from finishing the session. 1. The front sight was completely shaken off the slide after 16 rounds or 2 magazines. 2. During the 4th magazine, the firing pin stop plate fell out halfway and hang out about 1/2", preventing the slide from going back to slide. Not sure if I should send it back to them for warranty repair since I need to pay shipping both ways.
