Shot my buddy's with the dot......did ok, but would have to work REAL hard to get proficient with it.Got mine (no dot) about a month ago.....love it. Took over as my edc from the 5.25 xdm 10mm I used to carry. Don't see much difference in recoil.

Got to thinking about how Glocks work with extended bb hanging out the front......Called SA and they said the 5.25 and the 4.5 would work without issues.  Took the 5.25 to range yesterday with the 3.8, switched bbls and it works fine.
My plan is to get a aftermarket bbl and have ports or magna-port do the end of the bbl (in front of the slide) for some competition work...(just cant compete in speed comps with other people shooting 9's).

Only upgrades that are planned are nite sites since this is now my edc.

Congratulations on a fine son.  I think I was raised properly by my parents, but I'm not sure I could do what he is doing. I would be extremely proud of him if he was mine.  2 years will go by faster than you think.   Tracy

Colt Delta Elite with mucho mods.

Really want a new Delta Elite.....though now that Colt is coming out with a rail version.....since my current Delta is my EDC gun, the rail model would do great duty as my HD gun with a light and still be capable of ding SD duty.

Either way, a Colt Delta Elite.

Love my Delta......only time the 45's get shot is when my wife comes shooting. Wanted to shoot the nuclear loads....i.e. Underwood, so I had a Clark Customs ramped/fully supported bbl installed, Trijicon nite sites and a host of other "personal preference" mods done to it.  I've got about $2400 into a $1000 gun.  It's my EDC gun.

Haven't had much trouble with brass going bad so far......bigger problem is getting brass at reasonable prices.

So far I've only used Longshot and I'm happy with it's performance, so I doubt I'll use anything else unless I can't get it.  Currently have some Power Pistol, Silhouette and Unique if needed.

Also, I have only loaded lead 180g Penn bullets, 155g Lucky 13 green coated Zombie bullets, and 180g Blue bullets.

My hot load is 8.8 (with the Penn 180's), and I've gone down as low as 5.6 for some gun games comps. For everyday range time, I've settled on 7.8-8.0 for all the above referenced bullets.....nowhere near max, but still some pretty good pop.

I haven't chrono'd any of these loads, but the 8.8's have more recoil than some of the factory fmj loads I've bought.   Tracy

Welcome to the forum.....nice stable of 10's.  Time to reload, but with that many, I'm sure you already do.  Tracy

Pick up a Colt Delta Elite and have a ramped/fully supported bbl fitted.  I had a Clark Customs fitted to my Delta......and now I shoot Underwood whenever I want to.

My choice (which is what I did) is pick up a Colt Delta Elite and have a ramped/fully supported bbl installed.....mine is a Clark Customs bbl.

$1200 for the gun....$300-$400 for the bbl and install.  And you can shoot Underwood all day in it. Tracy

For carry, I'm partial to Hornady XTP's, but right now I have PMC Bronze 170jhp's since I got a good deal on a bulk purchase.

Several years ago, my neighbor had a compost pile in his back corner  (right next to my reloading shed).  We had an infestation when the local rat community decided to make his compost pile into a condominium housing project.  Living inside the city limits, shooting them (more than once or twice a week) was pushing it.......weren't friends enough of the other neighbors to know if they minded me killing the little critters.

Anyway, was in the shed one sat morn when I saw one poking his head out of one of the many entrance/exits, took aim with my SA Longslide (loaded with 255gr lswc +P bowling pin ammo) and timed his exit and retreat back into the condo. Nailed him just as he reached the chain link fence and the shoulder shot crushed him into the fence to the extent that he had to be pried out with a pair of pliers.  I couldn't pull him out with my bare hands. It was a glorious hunting expedition. Tracy

Did you get any protests from Rat's Lives Matter?
Actually I did! Ask The Shadow  :o

I had one friend that must be a Buddhist... didn't know it, but his responses:

-That looks like a woodrat.
I hope so much that you didn't kill it. Woodrats are naturally occurring rodents that are beneficial to our ecosystem and are in extreme decline thought MD. In fact I'm not there are any recent records for it in Cecil County

-But still the Buddhist in me is sad

-I don't want to get into a debate about compassion and the rights of sentient beings, but I'm troubled by you saying "I don't like to kill things that I don't have to..." I don't see why one would ever have to kill anything, but again, this is an ethical thing (and a spiritual one -for me) that I'm not interested in discussing at the moment.

Basically responding to me saying I don't get them here and this didn't look like a friendly. Also that I don't kill anything that I don't have to. In this instance putting my live trap out wasn't the better option.

Are you in northeast Md?

Howard Co boy transplanted south 12 years ago.

Hey TSP if you have a Dremel for hogging off the initial mound of plastic, and a fine flat file for cleaning up the edges, and a vise for squeezing the spring, this can all be done to one mag in less than 20 mins, faster as you learn the method. The people selling these for $100 dollars are cashing in big time. Here's mine on a G40MOS 10MM with 9" lonewolf barrel. G20.4 Mag with Kriss 45 extender. Friends dubbed the frankin glockzilla, functions fine for a range toy.

Oh by the way, if you get a gen 4 frame, be sure and get a gen 4 mag. 1's 2's and 3's however can use any gen mag.

9" bbl......waaaay cool.  Guess I need to stay away from gen 1 too.......something either on youtube or Mectech concerning something to do with the frame rails being plastic or combination plastic and metal that causes problems getting the Mectech to lock on, but I'll look into it further when I'm readyt to build it.   Thanks .

Watched a couple of youtube vids......doesn't look like rocket science soooooooo, once we're through with the house settlement, this'll be my next project.   Thanks for your responses.

(hopefully I can pick up a decent used g20 at a good price)

Yeah, I'm curious about that......I use 45acp mags in my Delta with 100% reliability, but Glock mags are plastic (aren't they?) and not sure how stiff/tough the mouth/feed lips are.  Tracy

The G21 is the 45acp, the G20 is 10mm..... the G21 conversion works ok with the 10mm rds?

Looked it up and they sell the already put together mags $67....I can live with that.

We should be going to settlement on buying a rental property in the next month, so no big expenses til thats done.   Really leaning towards the Glock at this time.

Cut a coil or 2 off the mag release spring and it will be fine.  Buy a couple of extras to work with.
