I shot some S&B 180gr FMJ today.  It was accurate, pretty clean shooting and ran 100% in my steel framed Witness.  I paid just over $15 per box.  The components would cost that much, so there's I see no reason not to start with this factory loaded ammunition.

Those dual spring things are junk.  Wolff supplies an extra power calibration kit with an 18, 20, & 22# springs and they are a huge improvement over the piss poor stock setup.
I just ordered the calibration pack.  I'll let ya'll know how it works.  Another reason that I'm suspect of their dual spring setup is that they use the same dual springs regardless of the cartridge the pistol is chambered for.  The replacement set that I received didn't even have the poundage indicated.

I agree for precisely the reason you see above.  I've replaced dual recoil spring systems in a few CZ75 Compacts with no ill effects.  Unfortunately, Wolff's website says that their single springs are not compatible with dual spring systems.  I may give it a try anyway.

I recently picked up a 10mm Witness P with 3.6" barrel from galleryofguns.com for $360 delivered when they were on sale.  I would rather have had the P-Carry, but they're $200 more.  Interestingly, EAA does not show the 10mm Witness P with 3.6" on their website or in their catalog.   Here's everything that came in the box:

Here's a left side view:

And a right side view with the slide back:

This pistol has a large grip.  I don't think that I really have big hands, but it seems to fit my hand well.  The length of the single action trigger pull is just right.  I checked the mag that came with it versus the one that came with my full sized metal framed 10mm.  They are both 14rd mags and are the same except for the floor plates.

I took it to the range with 50rds of 10mm (180gr Zero JHP over 10.0gr AA#7).  The results were rather disappointing.  Accuracy was good, the grip felt good and the sights were easy to see.  Unfortunately, on almost every shot I could feel the slide hesitating while going forward.  Three times the slide locked back while trying to feed a cartridge.  Two of the three times the cartridge actually seemed to be caught between the magazine feed lips.

I found an interesting issue with the outside recoil spring.  I think pictures can do a better job of describing the situation than I can.

I called EAA and they sent me a replacement dual recoil spring set.  It's now installed and looks good.  Now I just have to load up some more 10mm so I can test it again.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: G20 KB! - Ideas on what happened?

I really appreciate this thread as I'm getting ready to start loading 10mm for the first time.  I'll definitely be extra careful.

Neck tension is critical for preventing setback. Crimping a straight wall case has little effect on setback. A heavy crimp merely shrinks the diameter of the bullet and can be counterproductive. Crimping to the point of engraving the bullet is too much. Also, crimping will not overcome improper neck tension. Crimping heavily will squeeze down the bullet diameter at the case mouth. The brass springs back slightly and tension is lost.
+1, well said.  The purpose of a taper crimp is to remove the flare from the belling step, not to help hold the bullet.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Witness problems

New member here.  This is my first post.

I recently receive a new Witness 10mm that I purchased from Budsgunshop.  It took a month to arrive, but it's finally in its new home.

As you can see, it has the heavier slide.  The magazine that came with it is marked K10 and has a black follower.  I've installed a Henning guiderod and 20Lb recoil spring.

Now I just have to work this new Starline brass in to complete cartridges.
