Want to buy / Re: WTB Bren Ten

Yeah they are all over the place price wise. I see them listed for that price but are usually pulled before sale. Generally I see them actually sell for between 3000 - 5000. At Auction sometimes as low as 2200 depending on condition, accessories, etc. I guess I'll need to go that route and keep an eye out for a auction.

General Discussion / Re: Colt

Here's the thing. Colt has partially priced themselves out of the market. A basic 1911 is uberexpensive compare to something like a Taurus PT1911 that has all the bells and whistles and really only needs some decent magazines (I bought one and the damn thing was a tack driver). You have the Colt SAA which while cool is substandard when you compare it to the Ruger Blackhawk. Everyone makes an AR-15 and most are as good if not better than Colt and are cheaper. Then they refuse to produce the Anaconda, Python, or Detective snubbie which would all sell like hotcakes. No surprise on the announcement.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: A day of reloading

Actually, Underwood used to load 9.4 grains of 800x over their 180's. Occasionally, there were ones I think were a little hotter. The other thing to take into consideration is that most of the Underwood I've measured the OAL is 1.251 to 1.255. I tend to load them a hair longer 1.265. Doesn't sound like a lot but should help compensate just in case I go a grain or so over 9.2.

I just finished loading up 500 - 10mm 180 grain HSTs in front of 9.2 grains of 800x. All in all a good day.

That is near the upper load of powder for the 180s... how did you get the lee disc's to meter well with 800x ?
I've never been lucky getting better than +/- .4gr with that powder... drops were all over.

It's the only one that does meter it well. The trick for me is to keep it full and make the stroke smooth. If I do it fast then I've seen the amount change by a grain or two.

I'd love a Ruger Vaquero in 10mm.

If I ever did, I would use a Safariland level 3 retention holster just like the police do.
