I own a Girsan hunter.  It is a great gun for the price.  (Better than people believe!) I changed the grips and made it a little more personal.  You will love it.

I bought one of the Girsan 1911 hunter models. It shoots very well and I have fed it mostly handloads. I perused the interweb and put some minor hardware pieces onto it.  I like it better whether it shoots better or not. I put a hi viz front sight on it but don't really care for it.  I'm waiting on some glow paint in the mail to put the original sight back on. Hopefully,  this and my Glock 40 will both get to be used for their intended purposes in a couple weeks.

I know this thread is a little old but I bought one of the Girsan 6" hunters. It shoots great. It needs a better front sight but other than that,  I can't find a flaw. It was $669 at my lgs. Fit and finish is top notch on mine.

I'm new here and finally logged in to introduce myself.  I am a retired Marine living in eastern NC who enjoys the outdoors (hunting, fishing, archery and shooting). I bought a Glock 40 and want to use it for hunting.  I have it topped off with a vortex venom. I killed 3 deer last year with a .357 so a 10mm should do the job also. I also reload so experimenting with different loads is fun for me.  I have gleaned a lot of knowledge from the forum as this is my first Glock.  Now I want one for concealed carry.  Possibly a G29. We'll see!
