Factory 10mm ammo / Re: UnderWood Ammo
May 27 2014 06:52:10 PM MDT
im sure double tap went through the same phases
1. high quality, low priced
2. we are getting popular - shortage
3. demand is high lets raise our prices
4. lets have other people sale our product while we count the money
5.  how can we optimize profits?  - lets water them down- no one will ever know because of of our good rep
6.  cats out of the bag, but lets keep our prices high since they are warmer than others
7. oh no other people are making reliable quality ammo at a much cheaper price.  lets stay high but put a few more gains of powder back in them.
8.  maybe somebody will buy us out for a few million and we can retire.

well hell that sounds about right for every company (in a nut shell)

capitalism

but hey if i didnt have a 10mm i would never order from them or anybody else.  just take my happy arse to any local store and get my ammo.

Based on advertised speed only what real difference(s) does 60fps make? Recoil, bulges, expansion, penetrating.....?

maybe gen 4 is finicky and needs several hundred rounds through it?

when i replaced my spring to 22 pounds it still happen for a little while then got better and better.  i have a captured rod so putting the recoil spring was ruff but when done the spring was all "wiggly" put when i was done and cleaning the spring had straightened out.  i still need to shoot it more and make sure it is taken care of for my comfort.  i have the gen 2 model

actually you need to research the law in your area.  some are "laws/contracts" are written down as voluntary payment.  this was in the news about a year or two ago.   some big city on the east coast had one on the book for years. and when it was let known to the people nobody paid anymore and in fact never had to pay.  but the ones that did pay could not get money back and the ones that never paid got off scott clean.

they named some other cities that had the same "law" so others are out there.

Most if not all these are third party getting politicians to get these put up. marketed as free money for the city.  third party pays to put them up, maintain, and do all the paperwork.  City sits back and gets a percentage of all tickets.  Free money.

i really dont think they wanted to spend 5 million on a commercial. Thats a lot of guns to sell.  they got exactly what they wanted.  free publicity on the 24 hour news networks a few months back when they were denied by the NFL.  but who knows maybe they were really disappointed in not being able to get a spot.

seems to me if the NFL can show janet jacksons tit they can show a gun commercial.

You might want to consider the "cruiser weight" 165 grain bullet. Law enforcement contacts tell me the 165 grain Speer Gold dot in .40 has an excellent record putting down bad guys on the streets. Here is a simtest from TnOutdoors9 on the .40 version:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8dezgRVqs0

I have no reason to believe a 165 to 170 grain bullet loaded to 1300 fps wouldn't perform exceptionally well on the streets.

i actually have 165's from Underwood loaded now.  my last 15 of them. as far as losing velocity faster im not too concerned being its a handgun. im sure underwoods 135gr at a 100yards will still have at least 1000fps.  with all this said unless pbr or underwood get some in stock soon i will be stocking up on what they have.  135's and 155's underwood are some rowdy rounds for follow up shots for me.  numbers are sure impressive. i guess i could have some patience and wait for the heavier grains to come in if not in stock in the next couple of weeks.

the youtube video showing i believe 155's vs. 44 mag with steel plate was interesting.

been thinking about going to a junk yard and pick up a car door and shoot it with the different grain hp's to see what they do.

thats a sweet looking gun.  looking at internet pictures you can see the difference in g36 versus xds in size.  i wonder how much difference it makes.  ccw

i just may have to venture from glock. too bad the g42 is not a 45
