I picked up 1000 HST jacketed hollows points for a really good deal and want to work up a load for my 10mm 1911's, both have 5" barrels. I have been using 6.4 gr of 231 under a 180 gr RN with pretty good results with accuracy. My objective here is more for accuracy over max velocity.
I do have other powders to work with... CFE Pistol, Longshot, Unique, Tight Group. Question here is were do I start, which powder is the best to use? I do not have objectives to pushing the envelope a little, just want to stay away from super max loads. I don't want to beat my pistols up pushing the limits. Just want some tight groups and a true 10mm load. And I do understand that what works in my pistol may not work in another, looking for a good starting point without wasting reloading components.
