I recently purchased a Witness in 10mm. I installed a 20 pound recoil spring in it before I fired it. It functions very well, but I have one issue. It launches spent brass a good 30 feet. This is a problem because I don't have a great supply of brass, and it is difficult to find the brass casings when they are thrown that far. Does anyone know if I install a heavier recoil spring, it will slow down the slide enough to moderate the force with which the brass is ejected. As far as I know, the heaviest recoil spring available is 22 pounds.

Hello, all. I'm a life-long shooter but new to the 10mm. I've been fascinated with the round for years but never came across the right pistol. I bought a Witness a couple of weeks ago and I'm starting to work up loads. To prove that when it rains, it pours, I also found a Rock Island 1911 I just had to have. I hope to be able to tap into the wealth of experience here with the 10mm round to help work up good loads and maximize accuracy with my new toys.
