Gear/Equipment / Re: Tripp Research magazines????

I switch every 1911 to Tripp mags for carry. The mags that come with the pistols are put into a range bag for practice only.

I have had good luck selling my safe queens on consignment at my local gun shop. we check out prices, I tell him  what I want to get and he adds his percent on top of that.

I will likely do that with my South Carolina PTR rifles. I own #1000 of 1000 runs in .308 and 7.62x39
Both are unfired, I bought them direct from PTR
We have a small local shop, Veteran owned, who Ill ask to promote those rifles.

Morning Ron, your very fortunate. For me, when selling or making a trade, I get taken to the cleaners nearly every time; at least when dealing with a gun shop. The up side is I am trading for something I like a lot more, and am normally ok with the outcome

Ken

If somebody came along with a new in box Springfield Ronin 4.25 barrel in 10mm, I would trade.
Of course I have to pick a unicorn pistol, but then again I would be trading a unicorn pistol

a true fact, I can't believe the left is bashing him so bad in this time of grieving for his family, like really 😡

I just got a weeklong Facebook vacation for defending Limbaugh.

None of your kids (assuming you have any) are interested in it? Just curious.

Kids have gone through my collection and made their choices. I does get silly since I've been collecting since 1978. But no interest in this pistol. I'll be selling some South Carolina PTR rifles soon that have special serial numbers. Kids didn't want them, either.
But the Springfield Socom II's didn't last a minute😁

Keep it a virgin and sell
.

I'm a big believer in saving history, hence my logic for not shooting it. I have one of a kind serial number rifles, unfired.
Limited Edition 1911's, unfired. All kinds of stuff. But over the decades they were researched and bought as investments, that would also preserve history. This pistol was bought on a whim, I had never heard of the S&W 10MM's though I was familiar with the Miami shootout that helped create the 10mm lineup. I didn't know they were so popular.
I think I'm gonna sell, unfired, as is. Now to attach a price somehow.

General Discussion / Unfired 1066

Hey Guys.....

I cut a deal for some stuff before Christmas with a gunstore owner I know in Boca Raton, Fl.
I ended up with this unfired Smith and Wesson 1066 that, as he described, came out of a time warp.
I'm older now and have been collecting since 1978, so I don't want any a more safe queens, but I'm reluctant to shoot this pistol since someone may want to keep it unfired. It's an estate gun. So, I posted this exact video on the Smith and Wesson forums to get a feeling of "shoot it or sell it", but the video got taken down cause the words "crap" and "bust its cherry" weren't family oriented. Something to that effect.
Anyways, should I shoot the crap out of it or seek collectors who would keep it pristine?

Edit: obviously if I sell it and somebody pays for it, it's up to them what to do with it. Just means I didn't shoot it and kept it pristine.

milkmanjoe, what price are you looking at, please message me if you are interested

Kenk......

I have no idea. It was part of a deal and my wife gifted me everything included. I was happy with the deal itself, then realized I had a thirty year old unfired 1066 that I knew nothing about. I'll post a video I made a few months back, wondering if I should shoot it or sell it.

That's a serious collector!!

I wonder if he would be interested in an unfired 1066.....I bought one from an estate and am reluctant to shoot it.

As the saying among my friends goes: "If Joe is here a pistol is present"

I carry everywhere legal, seven days a week, for over twenty years.

I'm a firm believer that the world is nuts and it rears its nutty head at the strangest moments.

Hey Guys and Gals,

New guy, here and to 10mm, from the LowCountry of South Carolina where I live on ten acres out in the scrub. Retired, have my own range(nothin fancy) that'll appear in videos here. Looking to break into the 10mm pistol world, likely in the 1911 style pistol. I did buy a S&W 1066 from an estate, unfired, and haven't fired it, cause, well, its 30 years old and unfired. More on that "dilemma" later.
Looking forward mostly to learning here, breaking into reloading 10mm, and maybe getting some pointers on finding the elusive Springfield Ronin 4.25' barrel in 10mm!

Thanks for reading,

Joe
