Recently picked one up from Double M Defense, via GB. Good price and they had 6 shown in stock when ordered. I have not handled the Glocks but read several Grand Power review articles and watched the Tube. Articles and Tube reviews were very complimentary. I like the rotating barrel. It's a substantial hunk of steel. And it's from Slovakia like my grandparents.
I'll take a look at the cartridge support compared to my Dan Wesson Pointman 7 and Ruger P-89. It's not the L version, barrel length is 4.3". I like the feel, the double action and ambi controls. The trigger is polymer, shoe at least, with vertical grooves. I like my Ruger's smooth trigger and I filled the P40's trigger grooves with Devcon Steel filled epoxy and filed it smooth, much nicer in my mind. I have large hands, and I like the grip size and stipple/pattern. Magazine springs are intense. There is vendor 3-D printing nylon mag extensions and I got those to go on the three14-rnd. factory magazine. Sights are fixed, mine did not have the extra front sight some reviews reported. The rear has locking screw for windage fixing.
Times being what they are there is no ammunition so I got some Winchester brass, a six cavity Lee 175 grain TL mold. I cast up a bunch of bullets and loaded Titegroup over CCI LPP using a Lee four die set.
I checked a number of sources for load information and loaded five sets, down by tenths from a conservative consensus max load. One tenth grain under the top load put ten in the x-ring of my 9" paper plates at 15 yds. so that's the load i filled up the rest of the brass with.
It does tend to launch brass and I only got 200 to start so I'm thinking of the rail mounted catcher from http://www.sherwoodakuna.com I'll probably get one of those, seems easier and more portable than a big net system.
I'll be shooting it in moderation, I'm down to my last thousand primers, lots of bullets, and if I catch my brass that will work out.
