One what was more or less an impulse purchase (been out of 9mm for a couple weeks, can't find any, but gun store had plenty of 10mm stocked sooooo) I picked up a Witness Hunter. Really like it so far, owned less than 24 hours but managed to clean and oil it then put 50 rounds through. It came with 2 extra recoil springs, I guess different spring rates.
Can't find much info. I've read the two in the box were lighter and the one in the gun is around 14.5 lbs but I'm not sure. Also a lot of people seem to switch out the recoil spring for 18 or 20 lb.
Can some one give me an education here, why switch the springs? Recoil management I assume. Does the stronger spring stress the gun by slamming the slide harder?
I'm shooting 180 grain federal, range ammo nothing special. Thanks. This is my first 10mm and first Tanfoglio really liking it.
