I'm also using Windows Defender and Avast for protection...

Don't know if you will care about this or not, but, on one of my systems running Windows 10 pro, I am using Windows Defender for the time being.  On Windows startup, I have it running the following from a batch file to make sure that it has the most current definitions possible (without me having to worry about it):

"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\"MpCmdRun.exe -signatureupdate

(the quotes are needed because of the spaces in the directory names)

Handguns / Re: How good are you guys on Glock Generations?

Contact Glock and send it to them for replacement.  The ambi release is supposed to be harder to operate and does need the special mags.  The replacement will cost nothing, other than shipping, but will not have the picatinny rail.

Turning hollow points into a "home brewed" version of a critical defense type?

Handguns / Re: VP40 - Opinion LE or standard?

Yes, the LE version is worth it.  The mags will probably become as hard to find as the ones for the VP9/P30 are now.  Might want to get some spares now (even if you do get the LE).  Here they are in stock (6 right now):  http://www.crosscreekguns.com/HKmags.html

I always remove the magazine before I fire..the spent brass is coming down the magwell.

To my understanding, this is normal without a mag in.  If you would, answer CW's question of does it work fine with a mag in place?  Why do you remove the mag before firing, what am I missing?

Did you see that Amazon also lists the Vizeri tail-cap pressure switch with a coiled cord for only $10?  Also, BT8850 is correct in that this light needs a 30mm mount (it will be just a little loose fitting and needs a layer of protective spacing (e.g. electrical tape) to allow it to get tight).

You got me looking at this.  On Vizeri's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/vizeribrands , I found a discount code to get $10 off the light.  The code is 4I99L2QY.  I tried the code and it worked.  Hope you see this before you order.

So how do we convert the power factot to foot lbs? I guess I could look it up somewhere on the net.

Here's a very small excel spreadsheet to calculate it for you.  Just input weight and velocity.

You should have also re-tested the "bad" mag.  It could have just been you having a bad day on your problem session?

...However tungsten is much lighter than steel, much stronger, and if properly formulated possibly out last steel guide rods for 2 or 3 times more rounds...

I thought tungsten was the heavier one.  That's how they get away with saying that it will reduce felt recoil.

Hello from central Arkansas.  Yep, we got electricity and internet here  ;D  My name is Larry.  Been shooting since about 1957 or 1958.  My 10 is a G20sf (among many other Glocks).  Retired Air Force (in 93), currently doing tech support for digital imaging systems (mainly at courthouses).  Glock certified armorer (that and a quarter still won't get a cup of coffee, but I just wanted to go through the class).
