Well I held a 4.5" yesterday the balance was really good how ever the trigger was rough and a long reset I haven't shot the XD my son in law has for a while but I think his trigger was better than this one. So I was wondering has anybody had trigger work done on these and if so how much improvement was there also do they get better with use.
Thanks

I can't speak for the 10mm, but I've owned an XDM and shot a couple more other people owned.  The triggers on those guns felt better when firing the gun then with dry firing.  Mine felt like it got a little lighter after running a few magazines through it too.

Did they feel like 1400fps 180s? I have a DE,too. Also just started using 180gr Zero HPs reloading. I would expect a noticeable difference in recoil between 1200 and 1400fps loads.

They did not feel any differently, though I felt like they had more blast but I could have just gotten used to it.  The lack of increased recoil is the reason I felt like they might have had lighter bullets in them.

Dave how close were you to the Chronograph?  Don't thing Fiocchi is loading any lighter 10mm projectiles...If you have any left you could pull and measure the bullet weight to see. ???
Sometimes if you are inside of 10', the powder particulate can out run the bullet and start the timing circuit, causing erroneous readings.   :-[
The crimps not being finished properly can cause the issue of poor feeding as the edge is catching or dragging as it tries to enter the chamber.

I generally set up 5 yards with a pistol and 7 yards away with a rifle.  I shot 20 rounds through the chrono and they were all @ 1400 in that box.  IDK.  I've tested the other two boxes the same way and got @1200 on both of them.  Maybe my chrono was just going crazy that day but it was consistently crazy.  I shot up all that ammo and didn't show any signs of dangerous pressure.

Factory 10mm ammo / Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 180 gr

I bought a few boxes of this stuff off Midway because it was priced well.  It has some issues.

First and foremost, the stuff was not crimped well at best and at worst almost felt like it was still beveled from bullet seating.  It did not feed well AT ALL in my Delta Elite and I've never had issues with this particular gun.  I could feel the case mouth where the bullet was seated and the problem was obvious.  I reload, so I was able to run them through my factory crimp die and they have ran 100% after that.  Probably 70-80 rounds.  All three boxes had this issue.

The other issue was velocity.  The box says 1250 fps, but when I put them on the chrono I was getting 1400+ fps!  I was extremely nervous when I saw this.  I did not see any pressure signs so I finished out that box.  When I started the next box it chrono'ed at @1200 fps.  All I can figure is they put the wrong (lighter) bullet in the first box of ammo.  With my unsupported chamber, at that speed a 180 grain bullet would likely blow out the case.  Unfortunately, I know that from experience.

I think the bullets are Zero brand bullets.  They look like some nasty hollow points, but, from what I've read anyway, they are actually just made for target shooting.

IMO, this is decent ammo for the money if you want real 10mm ammo but not nuclear IF you have access to a factory crimp die and press.  Otherwise, I wouldn't take the risk.

David, if you do pull those Double Tap loads try to record the amount of powder used to see how it matches up.  Some pictures of the powder would also be interesting, as most were with longshot.

I was going to post this with the pulldowns but I'm not sure what the powder is.  It's disc looking powder that is smaller than 800X but larger than Power Pistol.  Does that sound like Longshot?  It's a Nosler 135 gr hollow point I know.

Edit:  I guess my pictures are too large.  Whatever the powder is, there's 11.5 grains of it.  OAL 1.250"

Dave's pictures of the Double Tap 135 grain Nosler showing 11.5 grains of Longshot powder @ 1600 fps.

Edited to add pictures for Dave's post here by the Shadow

TaterHead, I believe we discussed this on GlockTalk many years back.  Yes and the data for 800X was also one that was wild with the 135's as you stated.  I know people who tested that 800X data with wild 1800 fps velocities and some had catastrophic failures as well...
Just trying to keep people from messing up by using this older misprinted  data that is wrong and dangerous...

Oh my Lord!  1800 fps?!  I got swelled cases at just over 1600!  Thanks for the info.

As I suspected, the Prvi Partizan ammo is not all that hot.  It's rated at 320 m/s (that's @1050 fps.)  Very tame imo.  Also, as previously noted, the primer gives no indication of over pressure.  My money is on bad brass.

That said, I have had swollen brass shot out of my Delta Elite but it was 135 grain Double Tap chron'ed slightly above the advertised velocity of 1600 fps which, to me, is nuclear hot.  That said, I think it's undeniable that Delta's and old gen Glocks are very prone to case swelling in hot loads.  I am always very careful working up my reloads and I'm going to pull the bullets on the rest of that Double Tap ammo.

Another new guy intro.  My names David.  I had no idea this place existed and I'm not sure how.  I've been looking for a good list of factory pulldown loads for years and I stumbled on a link to this site from another board I've been on for 10 years.  I'm 40 years old, born in Mississippi, raised in Alabama, and now live in South Carolina.  I'm an Electrical Engineer, so while I'm a southern country boy I'm also a bit of a sci-fi geek and, as a graduate of the University of Alabama, a big college football fan.  If you go in my shop you'll see fishing poles, Deer heads, and reloading equipment, but you'll also see painted sci-fi models/miniatures as well.  The gun crowd tends to give you a funny look when they see that.   :D  I'm so glad to have found this place and look forward to hearing from fellow 10mm shooters.  Oh, my only 10 currently is a Colt Delta Elite with some custom work.
