I love mine. It fits my Glock 20, 41 and 40MOS. I've used it for hunting and hiking. Only negative is the draw is not totally silent like a leather chest holster is. Not a big concern or deal breaker but figured I'd mention it. It is super comfortable and durable as well.

I only conceal carry 9mm firearms and they are all loaded with 124 grain Federal HST. I have confidence in them after personally using them against a coyote at 20 yards and witnessing the wound and speed of death. While carrying in the woods I carry a 10mm loaded with Underwood 200 grain XTP ammunition. I live in Illinois so larger/tougher predators are not my concern.

Buy it! I've had mine for over a decade and fell in love with it instantly. I've killed deer with it at over 100 yards from tree stands and don't need a bipod. I shoot only factory Hornady XTP ammunition because I don't reload and the gun just flat works.

I have a Kimber longslide in 10mm and a Glock 40 MOS with a 7" KKM barrel and DeltaPoint Pro dot. Both are super accurate and capable of killing game. Out to 30 yards they are both about equal but beyond that the dot truly helps. I killed a 4 horned ram at 54 yards with the Glock MOS and would never have taken that shot with my Kimber. Since you state no Glocks, find a longslide that can accept a red dot.

I'll need to refinance my house to fill those 10mm magazines but I figure it's worth it. Sign me up!

I shot a Jacob's ram a few weeks ago with Underwood 200 grain XTP through my Glock 40 and the bullet damage was fast and evident at 50 yards. I wouldn't doubt that rounds ability on a cat for a second. If this website would allow me to put my pictures up (keeps saying the file is too big) you all could see the animal and damage the round itself did to both sides of the ram. Good luck!

Well I'm watching this thread and rooting for you. I'm also curious how the Xtreme Hunter performs as well. Good luck!

10mm Hunting / Underwood 200 grain XTP or Xtreme Hunter?
October 28 2018 12:08:34 PM MDT
So I posted a while ago about shooting a 4 horned ram with my 10mm. It was recommended to me to shoot whichever round I'm the most accurate with. Well, yesterday I did some Underwood shooting research (worth every penny!) and came to the conclusion that out to 50 yards (the range max) the 200 grain xtp and 150 xtreme hunter were identical. Which would you choose? I know the xtp rounds are cheaper but that doesn't concern me much because shooting/hunting is my hobby and my wife gets it. Side note, at 50 yards I had multiple groups under 3 inches with both types of ammunition. Lastly,, the hard casts didn't do as well at distance.

Can anyone here speak to the accuracy differences between a red dot and these fiber optic sights on a Glock 40? I have yet to stretch out my Glock 40 and Delta Point Pro past 25 yards but the accuracy is most certainly there. Thanks.

I guess I'd also like to add one more thing. What do you all feel is the maximum range for the 10mm on game such as deer or a ram?

Thanks for the information so far and I hope it keeps coming in. The xtreme hunters are accurate in my setup but I just can't seem to find any solid hunting proof of them being used like the XTP. I did recently see that Black Hills is now making a honey badger bullet which is essentially a rip off of the xteme hunter from what I can tell so that's encouraging. Also, Squints has been my nickname since high school. I wore glasses and played water polo so I squinted the entire game. I didn't start wearing contacts in games until college. Good talk and I hope it continues fellas!

10mm Hunting / Which Underwood ammo should I use?

So I'm a giant 10mm fan and just stumbled across this forum. Simply put, I'm excited! Here is my question. I am going to a game preserve in January to hunt a 4 horned ram and a fallow doe. Please don't judge me about the preserve part. I have wanted a 4 horned ram on my wall since I was a child and Peru is a little out of my price range. Anyways, I have a Glock 40 MOS with a Delta Point Pro and a 7' KKM barrel. My question is which of the following Underwood ammo would you select?

155 grain XTREME HUNTER
200 grain XTP
200 grain HARD CAST FLAT NOSE

I have harvested multiple deer with my 460 S&W as well as my 454 Casull both using Hornady XTP. So, handgun hunting is not new to me. I appreciate your responses and opinions. Thanks.
