I just picked up some IMR 4198 for $36 and got quoted $110 for large pistol primers in the greater Los Angeles area.
How much are you guys paying from where you are at?

Just seen an ad on Craigslist, $45 for 100 primers. SMH.

Where is everyone getting their primers? Or did you guys stock up before this latest Ammo shortage?

Reloading 10mm ammo / Double Tap nickel plated brass

I've been thinking about picking up some. Has anyone bought brass from Double Tap? How many times were you able to reload it?

I was running 11 grains of Blue Dot over a 155 grain Speer TMJ, which is a starting load. When I fired this round it made puff noise and sounded like it might be a squib.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Annealing

So, I'm on my third go around on my present batch of casings. Is it still worth the effort to anneal my brass at this point?

Today at the range I was changing barrels in my G20 and I ran across this.
It looks to me like unburnt powder and I was wondering is this the result of of loose primer pockets? I have never seen my gun dirty like this before.

My new favorite are Speer Gold dot TMJ 180 gr. They have them at Graf and Sons for about 15 cents around.

The gold dot 180 gr. TMJ are my favorite so far. Real easy to get a consistent seating.

Gunsmithing / Re: After market sights for a G-20

I'm shooting high and to the right which probably has to do more with recoil anticipation than anything. The factory sights are fine for shorter distances, but when I try to shoot beyond 20 yards the front sights cover the target and I can't see what I'm shooting at.

Do after market sights make that much of a difference or do I just need to practice more?

Last night I reloaded 100 rounds of Zero jhp 180 Gr. with 12.2 Gr. Of Acc. No. 9 and Winchester LP primers. I also reloaded about 80 Speer Gold Dot TMJ's 180 Gr. With 10.Gr. Of Bluedot and Winchester LP primers. I've been having a little a difficulty getting a consistent bullet seating on my Dillion and these Speer Gold Dot's were really easy to work with. I'm real excited to try them out on the range.

So last week I took out some zero jhp 180 grain loaded with 12.2 Grains of accurate number 9 and Winchester large pistol primers. Shot about 160 down range with no misfires/hangfires/duds. I had couple ftfs, the C.O.L on those that jammed where 1.264. Anyways it looks like I'll be sticking with Winchester'S from now on.
