By Mike D,

What buffer was giving you troubles prior to getting it running with your 9 oz. buffer?

I assume a lighter one?

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the info. This is the lower I picked up last year.... And yes it does come with a 10 oz.
buffer..... I'm planing on mostly using this for plinking.... And maybe as a truck gun.... So will mostly use medium power loads... So not too worried about it getting beat up with wrist buster stuff!

http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-pa-45-45acp-billet-complete-classic-pistol-lower-uses-glockr-style-magazines.html

I am worried about the magazines.... While the G-40 mags do snap in fine.... The mag release does
Cant the mag slightly to the left at the fron of the mag body.... May be trouble! I am thinking I may be
Better off tweeking a G-21 mag that fills the mag well.... I think I may try a Glock factory 12 round and maybe a KCI 26 rounder and see how it works.... If that works.... Then I'll try the Kriss extensions...

I guess if it turns into a jamm'n Jenny nightmare.... I could change out the barrel and bolt for .45 ACP ones....
Oh well.... These are gonna be more work then slapping 5.56, 6.8 and even the 9mm's that I have done in past.... Oh well..... I love a challenge!

Thanks Guys!

Miscellaneous 10mm Firearms / 10 MM AR15 pistol!
April 05 2018 09:47:03 AM MDT
Hey Guys,
Newbie here.... And got a couple of questions.... (Hopefully not dumb ones!)

I had a bit of an epiphany this morning, and found this site  while hunting for info....

My story starts about a year ago, when Palmetto State Armory had a sale on a .45 ACP AR15 Glock lower.... Well, thinks I, that would be a pretty sweet set up.... As usual, money was tight due to going steady with a mortgage, and a renovation project that  won't die....

Anyway, I bought the lower.... Figuring when the checking account recovered, I'd pick up the upper and go from there.... Free to live a life of fulfillment and happiness.... Well, that didn't work out....
Palmetto has been sold out as of  today, of the .45 pistol uppers..... With no end in sight.... Soooo...I
decided to hunt up a compatable .45 Upper from other manufacturers.... That also has been a conundrum.... Most places were out of stock or super expensive....  Oh, damn... The .45 ACP AR IS the Red-Headed step child of the AR world.... So now I know.....

Anyway.... To get to the point.... While in my endless journey to find a .45 Upper.... I stumbled apon
This little jewel in 10mm..... And having picked up a G-40 long slide last year.... The lightbulb went on over my head.....

https://moriartiarmaments.com/ar-10mm-8?-pistol-caliber-side-charging-lrbho-complete-upper-with-bcg-–-10mm-10mmur-8sidecharger?search=10mm

I was debating the standard charging upper, for $399 or the side charger for $550.... As I just got my
Refund in... And will only do something stupid with it.... Like pay bills..... Drunken sailor mode engaged!

Ok.... Here is my question.... Asked in the nick of too late.... How are these.... Anyone use them for a build?

I know my Glock 40 10mm magazines lock in fine in my Palmetto lower.... But what about the aftermarket large capacity (standard!), .45 ACP  mags.... Will they work if modified to contain the
10mm round? Is one after market better then the other.... (I do know about Promags!!!).

I found a link that said yes, it is doable... On YouTube....  but... It has been removed (to hell with them), like We are building a workshop nuke, right?

Anyway.... Sorry for being long winded.... Thanks for the help.... Assuming I didn't do a stupid.... I'll post pics.  when done....

Thanks!
Fred

FYI... for the good of the order.... SB Tacticals new SB3A,  5 position adjustable brace, will go on sale at the end of the week....
