Looks like a short slide G20 or G40 to me.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Delta Elite Kaboom

Certainly no expert, but it looks to me like those bullets were fired out of battery.

It is reasonable to ask 90% of what Starline new brass costs, cause honestly I see people paying that.

The market in general seems to be that once fired brass is valued at about 75%-80% of comparable new, assuming the brass is deprimed, sized and cleaned.  Un-processed is about 30-50% of new.

So, if I read this correctly, that works out to about 6¢ to 10¢ a round for brass that is just collected off the ground and boxed. This is based on $95 for a box of 500 shipped from Starline.

Also check out Starline brass.... best reloaders brass out there ( some of my target loads over 10x so far )

This.  Most often when I seen once fired 10mm for sale it is only a couple percent cheaper than starline.  Sometimes it is more expensive.

So for someone that doesn't reload, what is a reasonable price to ask for once-fired (Sig and S&B mostly) brass?  I have no interest in reloading but would like to recoup some of my costs without giving it away.

I have read about Alaskan fishing guides that carry a 12 gauge with alternating ammo, first out some 00 buck to soften things up, and then slugs

When we visited a gun store in Homer, the guy behind the counter said his choice for bear was just that. I don't remember the brand, but the shotgun had two side-by-side magazines that fed rounds in an alternating fashion. He said he would load one with slugs and the other with buckshot. I guess it carried at least 11 rounds, maybe more.

Seems like a good idea to have a designated spotter when dressing out a critter in bear country

I suspect a lot of guides will be doing that from this point forward!

I bet they marked it at the 9mm price.

Is it really a FTF if bear hair causes the spring to jam?  What's it called when you press the gun right up to the target?  I though that was not supposed to be done with semiautos.

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: S&B 10mm JHP

Interesting. I shoot the FMJ stuff all the time at the range. Guess I never would have considered using the S&B JHP for carry. Seems something like Sig would be a better choice. Wonder if they handle any differently - guess I could see as I have both.

Here is a summary from excerpts:

Quote We see nothing in our opinion that would prevent the State from regulating the right to bear arms, for the Second Amendment leaves the State "a variety of tools for combating [the problem of gun violence], including some measures regulating handguns." [/size]

So you have the right to open carry, but if the state wants to outlaw guns all together, we're open to that!!

If they are the same grain, then what would a chrono tell you anyway? Seems to me the only differences will be due entirely to the bullet shape/profile. In that case, penetration and damage would seem to be the prime differentiators.

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: Ordered some Fenix 10mm ammo

Looks like they could make it even cheaper by using cheaper packaging!  Looking forward to your review. The advertised numbers look impressive.

What do you mean "full house?"  S&Bs go for around 30¢/round at 540 ft-lbs. Not as good as the Sig at 625 ft-lbs, but it's not 50¢/round either.

Range reports / Re: 10mm is a pussycat

If you are going to compare them based on recoil, shoot both rounds through revolvers with similar weights. I'm not saying the 10mm is stouter, just that you are comparing apples to oranges. I suspect even the same 10mm shot thru a revolver would have much more recoil than the same round thru a semi-auto.

Not feeling that great about my first purchases I just made with them.

And for those of us perusing additional ammo, it makes the purchase decision easy! Those are some rough looking bullets. Guess they don't understand how news gets around.
