That's interesting I have the 4.6 inch model and the cases are only a couple feet from me it doesn't matter if I run5.2 of 231 with a 180 or a full charge of power pistol with a 155gr xtp. I also don't have to change springs it has no problem with either load and the warmer loads don't feel as bad as the 1911 10mm

The last round popping out is your mag  pushing up the last round before the slide can catch it.   I had a 1911 45 that would due the same thing. To fix it I left the mags loaded for a couple weeks

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: Did Underwood break my gun?

When ever I need or want to replace anything on any of my 1911's I always look for Wilson combat bullet proof parts.  They have never failed and if they do Wilson stands behind the products and will replace it.  That's what I do you should do what you think is best for your guns.

If you have blue dot I would look for a lead bullet with as wide a meplat that will feed from your gun. Personally I think anything past 180-200gr you are at the point of diminishing returns.

The Underwood penetrates that have had test thru hard and soft medium has seen the penetrators don't penetrate in a straight line like the hard cast lead will.  I would avoid hp's and jacketed rn.  Montana bullet works cat a great 200gr wide flat nose.  Not sure if they are available at this time.  Good luck and enjoy

The media does sensationalize things that aren't sensational.

When I read those news stories about how a guy had 1K rounds of 5.56 or 9mm "stockpiled" I can' help but think about how much ammo my six kids, their SO's and I shoot in a Saturday afternoon in the desert.  It is more than 1K rounds.
1000 rounds is a slow week when things can be restocked easily.  I shoot 2 plate matches and if I'm up to it a pin match every week.  So I know how easily it adds up and how quickly it adds up

I like the ones that come out of my garage and I coat my self.  The price is right but customer service really sucks

If you are looking for a barrel for your Ruger sr1911 10mm I believe it is the Wilson/Nolin style and also remember it is a bull barrel.  I've looked at doing the same thing a year ago then the political b.s. and could put everything on hold. I have run factory 40s and reloaded 40s both loaded to 1.125 and have had no I'll affects that can be seen.
