Thanks for the replys fellas i think I'll do some grouping with and make sure I'm completely satisfied with it before i spend anymore so far though i do like it. It does also seem to be pretty accurate when benched I havent shot many of my loads thru it yet but i will. Thanks again for your replies

10mm semi-auto handguns / Late model steel Witness question.
December 22 2017 07:00:30 PM MST
Hey guys I'm pretty new to the forum but I've got a quick question on beefing up my 10mm witness. I have the blue steel version 4.5" barrel think its around a 2016 or 17 model bought it used it had a recoil spring unworthy of a 40 cal super weak. Anyway I ordered a wolf #20lb recoil and installed it along with the firing pin spring how necessary do you witness guys think it is to use the Henning coned guide rod really, even after springing it right. I do plan on shooting full house loads. Have yall seen damage even after beefing up the spring and using the factory guide rod. Appreciate any replys.

I thought Les baer was 1.5" at 50 I may be wrong. But mine will certainly do it benched of course and if I do my part. Ive shot 3 seperate 3 shot groups at 50 that measure at the 3" mark. I normally shoot 5 shot groups but i was trying to conserve ammo the other day. By far the most accurate powder in it is AA#9 with 180gr xtp. It will rag pretty little 1.5" groups at 25yrds all day. The barrel doesnt look like it would from looking at the bore but it will, must be very consistent bore is all i know. The slide to frame fit has zero play along with the barrel lock up. I took it to 100yrds and kept it within 8" with 3shots.

Thanks for those replies fellow's just wanted the peace of mind that it wasnt possibility a lemon barrel. I agree of course it is acceptable accuracy the bore just had me second guessing. Ive never owned any ruger centerfire handguns lomg enough to really check out the bore close. Again thanks for the replies.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Help with new Ruger sr1911

Im really curious to know what shape others bores are in. I just bought my new Ruger 10mm 3 days ago it functions perfect shoots pretty good I'm getting around 3" groups at 50yrds so far with my reloads. But with all that the bore looks like its had 60grit sand paper drug thru it its almost like machining marks down the grooves. Ive never seen anything like it but it doesnt seem to foul at least no more than usual. Im kinda use to all my CZ bores there literally mirrors and shoot like they look. I would certainly feel better if my Ruger looked that nice. So how do your guys look, like mine or are they polished nice?. Appreciate any and all replies.
