Slow burning powders and light bullets make for some serious flash. H110/296 is the king.
The muzzle blast is pretty serious as well.

Take a look at Graf and Sons. The best reason to buy there is they are competitively priced and the freight is a fixed rate, usually only $7.95 per order excluding haz mat, if applicable. They carry all of the name brands. Here's their pages on 40 caliber bullets. Note, they will show at the last of the pages what they are out of marked in red. They give price per bullet too for comparison shopping. Shipping from them to me is normally 4 days to Texas. Don't overlook their close out section as it can have real dandy deals.
