10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Fusion 10 mm Commander.

Just to update this old thread...I received my Fusion Commander, and so far I'm really happy with it!  Just over 4 months on the delivery so not bad.  I've just been to the range with it once but it looks like its gonna be a good shooter!  Here's a couple of pics sent to me by Fusion:

I've had bad luck with two different DW Bobtail Commanders in 10mm.  Both have consistently had problems feeding.  I've tried different springs, various ammo, and even took the most recent one in to the local CZ armorer and had them work on it.  Still fails to feed at least one round per mag.  I've never had any such problems with several full-sized 10mm 1911s.  And all my Dan Wessons in 45acp work great!

I really like the Commander length for carry, but can't carry a gun that isn't reliable.   I'm thinking about a custom Commander from Fusion.  Anyone have any experience with Fusion in this platform?  Any other suggestions for a reliable 10mm Commander?
Do you have any input from Bob Serva, at Fusion, about your concerns...  To see what tweaks, modifications, or, changes, have been made to the 10mm Fusion Commander design, since, the Serva era at Dan Wesson?  Otherwise, it would seem the Fusion Commander could be more of the same problems you have been experiencing with the Dan Wessons.
I actually did talk to Bob, and he satisfied me that he can build one that will work, so I put down my deposit and will wait anxiously for the build!  I should be able to report back in about 4 months!

I agree with keeping it simple, but a feedback section would be fairly simple and would hopefully weed out or discourage trouble makers, IF people leave and check for feedback.  Currently this forum is small enough that word-of-mouth would probably work well for any problems.  My main experience is with the S&W forum.  There is a feedback section there, but I don't get the sense that people actually use it very consistently.

General Discussion / Re: Never thought I would do it

I think you have good cause to be worried Reaper.  Momentum seems to be building for "action" and the spineless pols are smelling the winds of change and flip flopping like dying fish.  I'm a lifetime NRA member already but I logged on and sent them some extra money last night.  Everything about this shooting and the country's reaction to it sickens me.

I've seen that crap before too.  I don't think any of us would argue that if we fight back in a mass shooting, we might get hurt or killed, but that doesn't mean we should just lay down like sheep and not TRY.  Most of us will never find out how we would react in a chaotic crisis with bullets flying, but dammit I'd sure want at least the opportunity to defend myself and my loved ones and if I'm not armed I KNOW I would not have that opportunity.

General Discussion / Re: Gun rights on the hot seat

I think sqlbullet summed up my concerns perfectly.  I see a lot of previously "pro gun" and otherwise rational people (like my wife too) starting to slip.  There is a huge need to "DO SOMETHING".  The emotions are understandably running really high.  I've been hearing the argument "if it would even save ONE child, it would be worth it" a lot.  I am with all of you.  I don't think restricting the rights of law abiding citizens will save anyone, but I feel a shift in the overall sentiment of the country right now.  I hope I'm wrong and that more logical and rational thought wins out.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Fair price for an S&W 1006?

I paid just over $600 for a very nice one with 3 mags.  Bought it online thru the S&W forum.  I've seen several for sale on that forum in the past 6 months and most are around $700.

General Discussion / Re: Nice Dan Wesson for sale

I think that DW looks pretty sweet and I actually think that is a decent price (not a steal).  I'd probably seriously consider snagging it if I didn't have this one - already showed the pic in the "show your gun" thread, but here it is again (unfortunately it DOES have a billboard :().  By the way I really like that Les Baer too!

If you read the "Armed Citizen" feature in the American Rifleman mag each month, it sounds like the armed old guys never lose!

Off topic, but about Gunbroker.....at least a seller. I was looking at a new Kimber and thinking about buying the thing so I looked at the sellers feedback. Mostly good, but one complaint about buying a new Kimber and it arriving dirty, scratched up etc. Seller sells as is, no returns......anyway, their reply was to take is up with Kimber warranty. So, I sent a polite email asking if the photos in their ad was of the gun for sale. That was yesterday morning and no reply. Btw, the auction was a relisting for only 24 hrs.

I say steer clear... Too many "flags" for my taste...

Good luck,' CW

I totally agree...I'd definitely move on.  If the seller doesn't respond quicker than that I would be wary in any case because communication is a big part of a successful transaction.  Another Kimber will surely come along soon!
