Reloading 10mm ammo / Hodgdon Load Data Misprint
February 28 2022 08:13:33 AM MST
It appears that Hodgdon has an online misprint for 10mm 180gr Jacketed bullets using Longshot Powder.

Their previous manuals listed the following.
180gr SIE JHC, Start charge = 8.5gr,   Max charge = 9.5gr  Longshot

This is also what Lee has published in their 2019 manual as they get their data from others like Hodgdon.

Todays Hodgdon online manual list the following,
180gr SIE JHC, Start charge  = 7.0gr,   Max Charge = 8.2gr Longshot

It just so happens that this new online data for the 180gr Jacketed bullet is the same as their data for the 200gr Jacketed Bullet.
Start Charge = 7.0gr,    Max Charge 8.2gr Longshot.

I contacted Hodgdon a couple times via Email to inquire about this, but have not received any reply.

An officer from the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office and another from the Boiling Spring Lakes police department showed up to the house soon after. Eventually, a third officer from the Southport police department entered the home as well, and ordered the use of tasers to subdue Vidal. According to Wilsey, Vidal was pinned on the ground by two of the officers when a third said, "we don't have time for this," and shot Vidal, killing him.

  Thanks for that.

The Underwood and the V-Supreme showed some impressive velocities.  The Atomic was a bust.

I wonder how far he was from the Chrony?  The muzzle blast on some of those loads was so severe that the chrony and the ammo box were jumping all over the place.  I wonder if that affected the accuracy of his readings?

What is the most positive thing that happened to you in 2013?

Me, I had back surgery back in June.  After decades of pain and numbness, I am virtually pain free.  Oh, I still have some issues and I'm in Physical Therapy,   but these will pass over time.

Oh, and I picked up a RIA 1911 10MM. ;D

Doesn't anyone here ever check Snopes before posting.  The one grain of truth in this is that everyone will have to produce ID before issuing a DL.

Snopes has been discredited numerous time with all things political.  It is just a left over hippy couple living in CA.  They have been known to put a left wing slant on their so called "truths".

The 10mm really shines when you are able to handload and Taylor you ammo for your specific needs.

Sorry, don't agree with the "bully" cop theory...  bad training maybe more correct.

The driver of the dangerous instrument (car) has to take some of the responsibility for the end result.... putting others at risk for the duration of chase.

True, but the threat and his use of the "Dangerous Instrument" ended when he exited the car.

They gunned down an unarmed man plain and simple.

What do you think these same LEO would do to you if you were in a confrontation with a BG with a gun where you had to draw your carry piece and you convinced him to "drop his weapon" , then you shot him dead?

That's right, they would have your ass in jail in a heart beat and rightfully  so.  No different, cept for the Badge.

LAPD officers opened fire with live rounds after they allegedly mistook the sound of a colleague's non-lethal 'bean-bag' shotgun for a real gunfire.
More than 20 gunshots and several unanswered phone calls later it all made sense - Bill Beaird just watched police execute his unarmed son live on television.

Family sues LA for more than 20 Million. Hope they win.  Only problem is that the Officers involved are not going to foot the Bill, the taxpayers are.

When is this going to end?  When are these bullies with a Badge going to be held criminally responsible for their murderous acts?

Seems Par-for-the-Course.  After all, it's only he and his that are qualified to "protect".  All others are Vigilantes and should be put down and have their firearms taken away.
