I have the Bruin and consider it exceptional. As a basis of comparison, I also had a G20, still have a G40 and an STI Perfect 10. I am only interested in 10mms with 6 inch barrels so the Sig isn't an option for me. If you want a 1911, I don't see how you could do better with any other production (not custom) 1911. Mine is accurate and reliable. The trigger is better than my other 10mms and the iron sights are perfect just as they are.
I've been shooting mostly handloaded 180s but will be shooting some 200 grain hardcast tomorrow morning. 200 grain XTPs function fine with a COL of 1.250 but these Beartooth and Montana Bullet Works WFN 200 grainers won't fit in the magazine at that length so I have seated them to 1.240. We'll see how they shoot tomorrow.
How does the Bruin compare in recoil to the G20, G40, or STI? Which is your favorite?
