I will just leave this here

I shot one of those at The Range in Austin a few months ago. No issues at all with it shooting S&B 357 loads. I shot a 50 round box and did not have one malfunction. Mine you it's a rental gun there but The Range takes good care of their stock/rentals. If was a ton of fun to shoot and I'd do it again.

I agree, more is good to a point.  They could have offered a commander sized 10mm w/ 4" barrel and generated some buzz. This offering isn't going to appeal to those of us who already have a few 10mm 1911's.

A Commander size would have been good. DW will make a 1911 10mm Valor in a Commander size for $2,500.  Even if they price pointed the SA at $1,500 I think it would be a winner (without the rails)!

They could have at least made one in a Commander size!

Number them with a paint pen first of all.  If I have a malfunction I note which mag it was.  One strike and you are on probabation, which means you get used alot.  Three strikes and your out.

And beyond that, but have lots of mags around.  I have 10-12 mags for my Glocks, four of which are 33 round mags.  I have 60-70 mags for AR's.

Now, I don't expect to get into a gunfight (which is why I don't carry a rifle around).  But, if I do, I don't plan to run out of ammo.

I also have a wife, six kids and a son-in-law.  They have different tastes in guns, but they all have AR's.  70 mags isn't nearly so many when nine people load out.  I have three high-cap 1911 10mm's.  And the 9 mags I have for them don't go so far when all of them are loaded out.

Also, as Clint mentions, mags can and do get broken.  Load up on reliable mags when they are cheap.

I just watched a bunch of these videos and there is lots of really good info and on top of that Clint is wildly entertaining!

I know it's not exactly what you asked about, but a bobbed 10mm Commander length 1911 works well for me :D

What is it? Post a pic please!

If it's a 10mm hopefully it's a Commander size!  :D

Why have you decided against a 10mm Commander sized 1911? I have a Dan Wesson 10mm Commander Specialist in stainless steel that I special ordered through them before they added a Commander Specialist to their catalog in .45 ACP. I have no doubt they would make you one as well if you contact them like I did. It only took them 3 months to make it.

As for the S&W 1076, I had a brand  new one back when they were first released back in the 90's. I really hate that S&W safety located right on the slide where you grip it to chamber a round. The other thing I hated about S&W pistols is that magazine disconnector they have that disables the trigger if there is not a magazine inserted in the magazine well. If you are in the middle of a shooting incident and tactically drop your empty magazine with the last round in the chamber (as a safety measure so that you can still fire off a round if the situation called for it) while ejecting the empty magazine to conduct a combat reload, you can't fire that chambered round until a magazine is inserted. I don't currently own any S&W pistols because of those two reasons.

The 1076, for me at least, is just one of those kinda bucket list guns. I like the 10mm in a Commander and back in June I contacted them to see about a build in a Commander. When it was all said and done it was $2,500.00. I'd love to have one but not that bad...

The mag/trigger issue was also with some of the old S&W Model 59s. I carried one of those for a VERY short period of time back in the day.

Thanks for the info.

Good to hear!

I see Sig made a 1911 (Spartan) in 10mm. Now if they will only make one in the "carry" size (Commander).

Sorry, but Jon Stewart never informed me of anything but the mindless drivel of snarky leftists.

I also have switched my EDC. Now carrying a Glock 29 Gen 4 in a Zorn Wraith Kydex IWB or an Alein Gear 3.0 Cloak Tuck. The G29 is loaded with Underwood 165gr JHP. I also carry a G20 extra mag.

Just keep checking Gun broker . And start buying magazines! They go for close to 100.00 a piece now.

Or build your own. You can still get all the parts except for buttplate catch. I made one from a small piece of aluminum and a #6 SHCS.  Still runs you abut $60 ea but better than the alternative.  I Made 5 mags last year, have had no issues after 400 rounds.

Interesting!
