Here is the problem with the Kart barrel. By the time that the bottom of the chamber is fitted just a bit off the feed ramp as 1911 barrels need to be, you are going to have cartridge exposure just like you do in the factory barrel. If this could be that easily solved with this type of barrel, Colt would have done it years ago. That is the Achilles heel of that type of barrel/feed ramp arrangement. You have to go integral feed ramp to beat this problem. Without one, you are just spending a bunch more money and ending up with the same problem.
If you like the Colt Delta Elite that much, just keep it as it is. If not and you want to shoot a lot of the full throttle stuff with no worries, sell the Delta and put the six hundred bucks you are planning to spend on the new barrel toward what you got for the Delta and get a Dan Wesson.
