I had a very good experience with STI. I cracked a frame rail on my 9mm Trubor. I called STI, and they sent me a box and a shipping label. A few weeks later I had a new frame. No issues at all.

I have a new mech tech 10mm with a 2011 SV bottom. With SV 140mm magazines, Dawson bases, and SV competition followers I can get 19 rds. In the mags.

I shoot a 215 gr. WFN, with 6.2 gr. of Power Pistol. It does 1000 fps out of a 6 inch 610.

I am sure glad I have 3 610's all no dash. Two of them are 6.5" barrels with fluted cylinders, and the third is a 5".

I really hate hearing about your Fastfire III. I just installed one on my Perfect 10 last month. I hope that, I have better luck than you did. I really hate hearing Burris would not do anything to help you. I also installed on on a Smith & Wesson 44 mag. at the same time, I could be in for double trouble.

20 week wait will give you time to acquire ammo. In that time, given the current availability, you should be able to track down 100 - 120 rounds of 10mm ammo.
I have 6 other 10mm guns. I have plenty of ammo to break it in.

I decided to go with the STI Prefect 10. The most painful part is the 20 week wait, the delivery date is May 20, but that could change. It is hard for me to wait that long for a new shooter.
