I tried to carry the Sig 220-10mm ( instead of the g20 )

Two things...the extra 10 oz DOES make a difference, and the g20 is not such a pretty gun so it doesn't matter if I bang it up

It's the DA/SA trigger that I am after.  Sold and re bought all DA/SA guns and training with the new trigger type.  Don't want to mix and match.  I just don't understand why someone can't come out with a 10mm da/sa Glock alternative.  How many people that hunt would buy them?  I know I would own two.  Unbelievable!

I hope they keep the alloy frame and under 30 oz weight on the 10mm version.  That would be a great option for carry.

Nope I asked the same question.  He said it will be Stainless steel.  I think it's going to be identical to the Lipseys version but Legion.  I think the only real upgrade is the Gray guns trigger kit.

With the release of the 220 Legion yesterday I spoke to the same rep and he says that we should see the 220 Legion 10mm in late July early August.  Now I am shooting (not literally lol) now that I placed the P220 Lipseys version on layaway!  The Grey guns trigger kit is around $350! ouch!

Last update - I misrepresented what the problem with the P40 was - sorry about that.  It went into battery but didn't reset the hammer.  It seems that the spring is so heavy in the P40 10mm that the slide doesn't slide far enough back to reset the hammer to single action.  I cleaned it up and reoiled it but that grey spring I think is too heavy therefor the slide doesn't come far enough back.  I also had a few cases that locked up inside of the ejection port.  I've read some swapped out their spring.  Also I could only get about 8 rounds in the magazine as the spring is too heavy.  Again I have read that some people have cut down their springs.  To me this is a show stopper.  The last thing I want to do is have to customize my gun to make it just work.  I've decided that with my 1895 SBL as my main defense in bear country an 8+1 is enough ammo by the time I have to actually pull it out to use it.  I am going to give Grey Guns a call today and see if they can lighten up the P220 a little.  40 ounces is a bit heavy so hopefully they can work their magic on it.  It would be nice to take off a few ounces.  The other gun I thought about was the S&W 1076 but at 40 ounces and double the price of a P220 match elite I can't justify 1 more round.  Now if it had 14-17 rounds I would probably take the leap.  I sent an email to Sig about a double stack option and the reply I received was...

"Double stack 10mm –  I can say  we understand the need for one.   "

Maybe we will see a 226 in 10mm??

My P40 was sent in for warranty work. The pistol Smith cut the mag springs down. Did some work on the catch Windows to better engage the mags. It still fails to reset now and then. And with full house loads drops the mag on occasion. I will be selling her for a XD in 10mm.

I don't blame you.  I am going to take it down to the gun shop today to try to sell it along with my XDs and AKs and a bunch of mags.

The Sig 227 could be done in 10mm. The 226 doesn't have the mag capacity. ( big enough for OAL )

Gotcha.  but the 227 says 10 round capacity in 45.  What would that mean in terms of a 10mm?  2 more rounds?

Are there any EAA witness 10mms that have a decocker?  I thought I read the poly version was a decocker and matched what I am looking for.  Also if I wanted to import a Sphinx 3000 10mm how would I go about doing something like that?  I can only imagine something like that will probably run me $3k or more.  It might be worth it to me if it meant I can find the exact gun I am looking for.

I was looking for a good double stack 10mm in da/sa...  hard to find. Yes there as some as shown, but not what I wanted.

Settled on the Sig 220/10mm just like the first pic ( Lipseys  version )

Today was second day at range... fired DT Hunter and DT Defense.... all fired well not one issue in total of 300+ round ( 5 types of ammo ).
DT cases mic'ed out at a nice .427

Funny you say that because I am going to pull the trigger on a Lipseys version.  I am going to sell this Grand Power.  I live in Brown bear country and I am not going to take the chance on a weapon possibly not working when I need it the most.  Glock would be my other choice but DA only really scares me with accuracy.  I figure the first shot on a DA/SA would possibly frighten what ever is coming at me and the second shot should be dead on.

You have fired 20 rounds and not cleaned or lubed it from the factory? You might be disappointed no matter what you buy. i have both the GP40 and the 220-10 and they both are great shooters with no issues. But I cleaned and lubed them from the factory.

I will try it out.  I know I should be better with my guns but I have done that with others without problems.  I just keep hearing about issues with the P40.  I am going to pick up a Glock 20 Gen 4 and a P220.  I am on a quest to get the best 10mm for bear country.  I figure I would have all my bases covered with the two that I am adding on.  Going to have a gun sale soon. lol  I no longer want SA guns.

Quick update...

I decided on the Grand Power P40 10mm.  I have not shot it yet but a couple of initial impressions I wanted to write down.

1. Really light weight - at least fills that way in the hand vs my 9mm sphinx and other 9mm handguns.
2. Light weight sort of makes it feel cheap
3. The decocker does not rebound after decocking the gun.  Have no idea why they could add in a spring to bring it back up.
4. Grips are not replaceable as it is all poly
5. Putting it back together is a real PITA!!  I thought I would never get it back together.  I only take it down once in awhile so not a big deal.

If it shoots well I can look past pretty much everything although replaceable grips for G10 would have been a real winner.

Well you need to test that thing by shooting it to make sure it will function reliably.
You also mention the 9mm sphinx...
Now that's a gun I really wish that would have become available for sale here chambered in 10mm...

Sphinx 3000 10mm

Hello Wade,
Thank you for contacting KRISS USA. The SPHINX 3000 series of pistols have been discontinued for several years now. The only way to obtain a SPHINX 3000 chambered in 10mm is to find one second-hand. We are planning to bring back the SPHINX 3000 hopefully in 2018 but it will be chambered in 9mm

Just finished up shooting about 20 rounds through it.  Twice it failed to go into battery and the final shot I got a stuck case (of course this could be related to the target ammo).  I was seriously surprised at the lack of recoil on this gun.  Of course the lack of fire power could be why it failed to go into battery.  Ammo specs below...

I never lubed up the gun since I bought it so maybe with a little oil and polishing on the rails it might help to clean it up.

Hi All,  I put up a Grand Power P40 10mm on layaway so I thought I would try to compile a list of accessories in case I ever want to change something.  I contacted Eagle and here is what I received from them...

- The grips are not replaceable, as is a part of the whole gun.
- The P40 uses the same sights as the K100, P1, and P45, so there are tritium sights and fiber optic sights available for that model.

It would be great if we can come up with some links to companies that sell the accessories.  Please feel free to add any...

1. Dawson Precision STI GP6 Tritium Front Sights - https://dawsonprecision.com/dawson-precision-sti-gp6-tritium-front-sights/
2. Dawson Precision Grand Power K100 Carry Fixed Tritium Rear Sights - https://dawsonprecision.com/grand-power-k100-carry-fixed-tritium-rear-sights/
3. Dawson Precision STI GP6 Fiber Optic Front Sights - https://dawsonprecision.com/dawson-precision-sti-gp6-fiber-optic-front-sights/
4. Dawson Precision Grand Power K100 Carry Fixed Fiber Optic Rear Sights - https://dawsonprecision.com/grand-power-k100-carry-fixed-fiber-optic-rear-sights/
5. ???

Your #3 is the EAA P-Carry. The  Witness Polymer is different. And the Witness guns are not decocker models.

Updated - thank you! I thought I saw a listing or two that said they were decocker models.  For me coming from SAO a decocker is extremely important.  When my wife shoots she will also want a decocker as holding the hammer will be a bit too hard for her.
