I will echo what many have said in earlier post. I carry my G20SF as my duty gun. It is expendable even with the things I have changed to make it easier for me to shoot well, ie. removed finger humps, install TRuGlo TFX sights, radius the right back trigger guard, opened the lower inside of the trigger guard and added Talon Rubber Grips. I used to carry my Colt DE SS before retiring the first time. It never let me down either but the Glock holds more ammo and was not a gift like the DE. IMHO I have the 2 best 10MM ever made.

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: Finally got my carry ammo settled on

I recently started carrying a Glock 20SF with TruGlo TFX sights on duty. Right now I am carrying my trusted DT 165gr BJHP that I have shot for years. It works flawlessly through the 20SF. I just got in 10 boxes of Underwood 165gr BJHP and plan to test them extensively then switch to them as Underwood is cheaper plus they give me a LEO discount. I have a few more 10mm that are known performers still on hand just in case.

I have had my Colt DE SS since 1987. It has had a minimum of 8K-10K rounds through it. Carried it on duty for 11 years. I have replaced the recoil springs several times and just last year I replaced all the springs in the gun as well as all my magazines. I have not shot any Underwood in it but it has had a steady diet of original 170gr Norma HP and 165gr DT through it over the last 30 years. I did have to go with a FL guide rod due to not being able to get any more of the "disposable" factory polymer guide rods and double spring setup. I thought about replacing my long since inoperative night sights but since I no longer carry it I will just leave them alone.

My 10mm "stash" includes several boxes of Norma that I have had since around 1987 when I got my DE new.

My department issued holster is a Serpa paddle for the issued Glock 22. I really like the Serpa despite all the nay sayers. I even got one for my Delta Elite. I got mine off Amazon.

The 170 JHP we did, way back in 1989. If I remember we averaged around 1290 fps with it out of my DE. Never checked the 200gr stuff. I had a friend who was really big into reloading and he had the perfect range setup with a very nice chronograph.

My 29 year effort of stashing 10MM ammunition. As you can tell, some of it I have had a very long time.  :))

General Discussion / Re: Introductions

Just discovered this forum. I received my Colt DE SS as a birthday gift in 1987 from my wife and the Reserve Deputies at our Sheriff's Office. I added a beaver-tail grip safety, night sights and a FLGR. I carried it the last 11 of my 29 years as a LEO. I recently returned to LE and wish I could still carry it instead of the issued Glock 22.

My 10mm stash, it's a 29 year effort as some of the price markings attest to. :)
