Does anybody know what finish the Tanfoglio Combat has?
I have read at another website, that this should be melonite. Could somebody confirm this?

Hello,
as I understand EAA provides blued, chromed and so called "wonder finished" guns.
I am not able to see this "wonder finish" on the official Tanfoglio website...
Does anybody now what this "wonder finish" is? Is it like Tenifer/Melonite? How resistant is this finish against wear and rust?

Many thanks

sqlbullet, thanks for the link.
Great work! To be honest, I can not get it over the heart to take a new gun and sand blast it... ...apart from that I am the master of disaster with paint  ::)

Does anybody has experience in TiAlN- and TiCN-coatings?

Thanks.

@jbaker30: thanks for the link, that`s the way to go, if the gun coating is gone...

@blaster: the "wonder coating" seems to be the hard chrome coating, right?

@sqlbullet: if you find the link to this thread, it would be perfect  :D ...but no hurry...

thanks,

10mm semi-auto handguns / Tanfoglio Gold Match

Hello,
at the beginning I was interested in the new Glock 40 because of the 6" barrel. But after having read several EAA/Tanfoglio topics here at this forum, I have to say, that I would like to go with the Tanfoglio Gold Match.
I asked a gunsmith for changing the SA trigger to a DA/SA trigger and he told me it is no prolem to change it.

The only point I am unsure with, is the coating. Personaly I am not a fan of coatings.
So I asked the gunsmith again. He told me there are several options: Chrome, blued,  TiAlN- and TiCN- coatings. (TiAlN- and TiCN- coatings are custom coatings)

I think blued is not realy an option, my rifles are blued and the need a lot of love not to get rusty...

Could please anybody share his experience with the coatings from EAA/Tanfoglio?

I am intrested in how durable the coatings are.
At the postitions where the coating is scratched: becomes the gun fast rusty?
Is it possible to refurbish the coating?

Many thanks.

01deuce, thanks for the picture

Is there a big chamfer between the feeding ramp and the chamber, where the cartridge case is not supported?

01deuce, very nice gun!

At the moment I am in search of a new gun with 6" barrel. Tanfoglio could be an option.
Just for comparison, could you please make a foto of a round in the barrel to see the chamber support?

Thanks!

Could you please explain the benefit of the non captive recoil rod?

Thanks for the link of the aftermarket barrel manufacture (I don`t know whether its available in germany, I have to look.)

Do the Bar-Sto barrels work reliable? Beside my normal rifle, I use me Glock 20 to trail wounded hogs...

Thank you for the fast response.

It's too bad that the G40 has the same support...

Hello,
could please somebody of the Glock G40 owners make a foto of a round in the barrel, where the chamber support is shown?

I own a Glock 20 gen. 3 and I ask me if the G40 has a better chamber support then my G20.

Many thanks
