Factory 10mm ammo / Would you use Buffalo Bore ammo?

Greetings all. I am a Glock 29 owner and I'm just back from a trip to Cabelas. Amongst other things I ended up purchasing two boxes of BB 180grn "Heavy" JHP. I have no experience with BB ammo but was just advised to "be careful" with BB 10mm as it runs very hot, possibly too hot. Can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks...

Im currently going through the process of choosing a self defense round for my new Glock 29SF. The initial reason for me buying a 10mm was that I wanted a relatively small but powerful pistol to carry while hiking/backpacking but I've so grown to like my 29SF that it may become an EDC. Any opinions or observations on the above ammo that I've recently purchased would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for suggestions on customizing my 29SF. Barrels, recoil springs, triggers, sights etc. I have the Pearce mag extensions and am now looking for an extra G20 mag. The 10mm bug has bitten me and it looks like I'm all in!

General Discussion / New to 10's and loving it.

I've been carrying defensive handguns for the last 30 or so years. Depending on circumstances, environment and weather I'll rotate between my Wilson Combat BWC 1911, Glock 23 or Glock 43. Up until last week I've never even fired a 10mm before but since I spend so much time in the outdoors camping, hiking and running I decided to take the plunge and buy a Glock 29 SF. The main reason was due to a fatal black bear attack that took place in a wooded state park nearby. I know bear attacks are extremely remote in NYS but it got me thinking... The Glock 29 SF will be small enough to carry while hiking/camping and with the right ammo I think be suffient to handle the small statured black bears in downstate NY.

I took my new 29 to the range last weekend and was very surprised, after reading about the recoil and blast of the 10mm I was expecting it to be like lighting an M-80 firecracker off in my hand. But lo and behold after firing off a 10 rnd mag my hand was not reduced to a bloody stump, I found it to be a little anticlimactic! I realize that the factory target ammo and Winchester Slivertips that I used are probably allot more mild than the Underwood 165gr Gold Dots I have ordered but I found the Silvertips quite manageable and would even consider carrying my 29 in public as a self defense pistol. Overkill? I'm not sure...

Wow, great info, thanks. I guess I'll save these for a "rainy day" and buy some jacketed target ammo.

Greetings all, I am a new Glock 29SF owner. When I picked up my new Glock the store owner threw in a couple of boxes of 180grn AE High Antimony Lead target ammo. I'm not a fan of firing unjacketed ammo through my semi autos and was wondering if anyone has experience with this type of target ammo. I've never heard of "high antimony" lead ammo before and don't want to foul the barrel of my new pistol.
