10mm semi-auto handguns / RIA ULTRA FS issues

Armscor will make it right, good CS.

Mine mangled brass and I kept tuning the extractor until it improved. Not perfect yet but it's much better than when I bought it.

Thank you for the post. I need to order some, or drive to Cary and pick some up.
Dang, I was not too far from there yesterday.

Gunsmithing / Dented brass

Check your extractor tension with an empty casing. The extractor should have a firm hold on the casing to eject properly. If it's loose, the extractor claw won't be able to get a firm hold on the lip of the case. I worked on my RIA extractor when I was having dented brass the same as you spade described and it's much better now.

I've had the RIA 1911 FS for about 6 months. Seems very good, though this is my first 1911 of any caliber. I've had to tune the extractor tension to get the cases to eject reliably but that's about it. Oh and my front sight came loose on my last trip to the range but that's easily fixed too.

Mine came with 2 magazines and very aggressive VZ grips.

Good to know. Local indoor range had them for $30/50 and I couldn't pass it up. Found it as I was leaving so haven't tried it yet.

I have shot quite a bit of .22 and just can't seem to get interested in it.  Not sure why, though?

I have thousands of rounds through my 20SF they are great guns. I will add the DD chest holster is fantastic. I really like mine because I usually have a pack on when hunting.
Link? Sounds interesting...

Maybe I just have a great gun:

This was shot at 15yds. hand held, 3 shot grp. indoor range with commercial 180gr. HP Prvi:

What did you shoot that with? Does it have stock sights?

Any gun... at any price... can and will have a problem.

I know of Sig Legions that were returned due to problems. Go figure...

Half the fun of gun enthusiasts is understanding your gun well enough to know WHY it has a malfunction. Anybody who expects a firearm to work 100% flawlessly is delusional. Same goes for a car... ANY car...
