Is either round not an outstanding choice?  But I love talking about nuances as much as anyone

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: New Delta

I've been wanting one, but even someone with as little knowledge as I am left scratching my head as to why Colt would not fully address the case support concern.

But then again Colt appears to sell as many of these as they make.

I just bought a 1006 today in great shape with two mags, no box for $800. It looks good with my 1076 and my Glock Model 40.  I still haven't figured out how to make photos small enough to post,.

If you don't end up buying the 1006, maybe he would be interested in selling it to me. I have a 1076 and would love a 1006. And $700 sounds like a deal to me!

Thanks

Factory 10mm ammo / Re: Ideal Defense Load for Glock 29

I'm new to the 10mm but my impression of the round for self defense

1) Overpenetration  concern
2) Recoil control for accuracy

Any 10mm close to full power with even marginally good shot placement should be devastating.

I have a Glock Model 40 and a S&W 1076 and I'm going to try out some Underwood. I plan on shooting gallon water jugs, phone books, 4*4s. Just for fun with my teenage kids.

I bought a
box of 20 Xtreme Penetrator  140  - $34
box of 50 FMJ  180 - $31

These bullets are supposed to serve a different purpose, the Xtreme is twice the price.  Will the extreme penetrate significantly more?  I don't understand how it could? The channel bullet?  Just curious, but if I'm just goofing around (safety first of course) will I see a difference other than the cost?

I have a bunch of Buffalo Bore and several other brands to compare as well. But unless I'm hunting or self defense why not FMJ. Reloading is not an option

Thanks

I had a Kriss for a few years and contacted the company a few times with questions and requests. Their customer service is fantastic,  but I culled the 45acp from my collection. A Kriss that takes Glock 20 mags would be awesome.  Their 45 is also awesome.

What's the gun fight hit rate by trained LE?  Why did the term "spray and pray" originate?  With the obvious exception of Hollywood  Actors, I'd say capacity matters for those .01% of .00001%.

And by the indisputable statistics recognized by anyone who knows how to count, the odds of any of us dying or finding ourselves in a gun fight falls just a tad bit below heart disease. People who can afford our toys don't hang much in the crack hoods. We should worry more about gym time and what's in our refrigerator. Guns are a super fun hobby, but to believe they provide a significant real world benefit on the list of threats to us or our family is a ginormous leap.

With that said I edc, own various NFA items, more guns than I will admit too including a 1076, and  Glock 40. But my high  cholesterol  scares me much more than an armed attack.

PS. I love this site, the folks with an interest in such things as a 10mm  are an interesting and intelligent bunch. And I' promise to do my darndest to dilute that. ?

You are likely the only guy on your block to own one of those. ?

Thanks guys.  I'm gonna stick with my Glock 19.  Two of my upstairs bedrooms have kids in them.

I am considering this as a home defense round, not sure of the bullet weight. The website says that sheetrock, sheet metal, windshields and wall boards will not effect penetration.  For obvious reasons this concerns me.  Your thoughts please?

Thank you

Interestingly enough I found a company called Dara Holsters that makes a holster not just for the glock 20, but also does one SPECIFICALLY for the Glock 40...and in left hand draw! With an RMR cut :D I ordered one so as soon as I get it I'll let everyone know how it fits and works...

Wow, talk about covering a niche market!!!!! Glock 40, Lefty, RMR. No production cost economies of scale for that target audience. My GSSF renewal coupon is on its way and  I'm gonna get me a Glock 40.

I have a 1076, recent purchase and I'm already shopping for my second 10mm.  G20  OR  G40. I hope you like yours.

Maybe  a dumb question  but why not a S&W  1000 series?  I just bought a 1076.

I tried to attach a photo of my gun, but it's too large. Even a stock photo from the internet is too large.

Time to visit FAQ .

I bet I'd be the only guy on my street who owns one.
