I spoke to Sig at the NRA show yesterday.  He said that the Romeo version of the 10mm will be out late summer.  He mentioned that the 10mm slide had considerably more recoil to deal with but did not say that it was the problem with the delay.  I looked at the Romeo mounted on I believe was a 320.  It looked good and was mounted low.  He also told me that there is only one version of the 220 available to the general public.  They make 4 versions but the other 3 are exclusive to one distributor.  They had the camo version on display so I assume that is the one available to all distributors.  I said that I have one of the DA/SA models on order and he said that my dealer would have to buy it from the special distributor.  I assume that to be Lipskey?

Thank you for the replies.  Now to find a distributor willing to supply a gun with 10 round magazines.

10mm semi-auto handguns / EAA Tanfoglio Hunter NY compliant

Does EAA Tanfoglio make the Hunter 10mm in a NY compliant model?  I see that Gander Mountain has them in stock on their website but they are not available to ship to NY stores.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Max cartridge gauge for 10mm

What are you using for a max cartridge gauge for the 10mm.  I have a Lyman for the 40 S&W but they do not list one for the 10mm.

Thanks for the reply.  I looked at the Galloway mount.  Galloway says it uses inexpensive base plates.  I do not know where to get the glock base plate at a reasonable price.  The ones that I found were very expensive.  The base plate plus the dovetail Galloway would add up to as much as machining the slide.

Gear/Equipment / red dot mount for Ruger SR9

I found a used Burris Fastfire III for $130.  I would like to put it on my Ruger SR9.  Does anyone make a dovetail mount for this?

Gear/Equipment / Re: Burris Fast fire 3

I shot the Glock 40 today with the Fast Fire III.  It really helped with the groups.  My reloads with Blue Dot and Federal FMJ shot into 2 1/4" for 5 @ 25 yds. off a bag.  One group at 50 yds. was also 2 1/4".  It shut off on shot 11.  I turned it back on and it worked for the rest of shooting.  It is interesting that my Bushnell Red Dot on my Buckmark .22 also shut off once.

I received my Burris FastFire III today.  I installed it on my Glock 40.  I had to use the Glock screws from the cover plate to mount it.  I had to shorten them to work.  The ones that came from Burris were the wrong diameter.   The screws from Glock for the adaptor plate worked correctly.  Everything was locktited.  I am now waiting for it to cure and better weather.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Sig P220 10 Hunt Ready

Thanks for the info.  I have one on order but did not want it unless it was machined for a red dot.  I wonder if other red dots could be adapted to the slide?

I have heard that the red dot (Romeo) is not ready yet.  If I order a Hunt Ready P220 10 will it come machined for the Romeo?

I ordered a 6" barrel from KKM for my Model 40.  It was sold as a M40 barrel.  It is supposed to be here Monday.

How does the red dot attach?  Is it a rail mount or slide mount?

Thank you for the replies.  I am new to auto pistols but have been shooting revolvers, Contender/Encore and single shots for over 50 yrs.  I have the Browning 1911 380 so I am familiar with the SAO.  The SA/DA seemed to make more sense to me but I have read reviews where they said that they hated them and would not buy anything that was not SAO. I figured that I must be missing something.  I am 71 today and I think that I need a birthday present.  The use will be target and hunting.  Have either of you seen the Hunt Ready model?  I understand that the introduction was put on hold to work out problems with the red dot.  I was wondering how the red dot was mounted and if it could be added to the current models.

I am looking at the Sig 220-10 and I see that they come in SAO and SA/DA.  What are the advantages of each and the negatives.
