Handguns / Re: CZ 97 Bartso Barrel in 10mm
August 25 2018 11:51:42 AM MDT
I tried my EAA Stock 3 14 round 10mm mags in my CZ97 and it fits just fine. Inserts and is held in place just fine, mag release works and the slide locks back on an empty mag.

I have a 97b and a Tanfo Stock 3 10mm. I will check tomorrow and post the verdict.

Prefer the 20 and 40 so I'm looking to trade this pistol for a EAA Witness Elite 10mm. Located in RI.

Thanks

Update: Sent the barrel back with some dummy rounds seated at 1.260. Two weeks later the barrel shows up in a box with my dummy rounds and no paperwork. It works fine now but I have no idea what they did to it.

I blasted the gun today and then realized the Gun Kote color I was shipped was the incorrect. So it's going to take a week to get here. I know the receiver and mag tube are aluminum and won't corrode but what about the barrel? Is it ok to let it sit for a week? I guess the only alternative would be to run a coat of oil over it but it makes it that much harder to prep the gun since I already made sure it was devoid of lubricants. It's a Mosseberg 500.

I am trying to get my Hornady bullet feeding die to work properly and the manual says to flare the case mouth to .385" but this isn't enough for the case to trigger the die and release the bullet 100% of the the time. I have played around with this and it seems to work flawlessly if I flare the cases to .390. With FMJ I have no issues but with coated bullets (same diameter as FMJ) 1 out of 10 fail to feed.

Any thoughts on this? I can't really find any specs on case mouth flaring.

Thanks

D&L Shooting Supply in Rhode Island has a ton of it as well and fairly reasonable.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Blue Bullets Velocities

Sorry, they are from thebluebullets.com. I did ask them and they said their bullets can be run up pretty high but didn't rest on a particular velocity. I was just wondering what folks here had experienced.

I tried to run Missouri Bullet Company's hardcast in 180 grain but they have been the source of all my chamber in issues in my aftermarket glock barrel. Bluebullets seem to fit with no issues.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Blue Bullets Velocities

I've been running Blue Bullets in 9mm for a while and love them so I just picked up some 180gr for loading 10mm. They don't list the hardness of the bullets nor any suggested velocities. Anyone have an idea? Would it be safe running these up to 1250-1300 ft/s?

Ok I'll post a pic when I get home. I know the case mouth is crimped to .422.

Well I think I may have screwed up a batch of 10mm where I used the seating die to crimp as well. I didn't know it was a roll crimp though I crimped just enough to take the bell out of the mouth.

But I would assume the headspace is toast now right?

Reloading / Crimping Question
May 11 2016 04:59:22 PM MDT
I'm trying to run a RCBS lock out die, bullet feeder and case feeder on my LNL press. I've been using a Lee factory crimp die after the seating die but I'll need to free up a slot for the bullet feeder. What kind of crimp does a Lee seating die use? Roll or taper. I also have a Hornady Custom series II set and it appears to have a roll crimp on the seater die. I thought a roll crimp was a bad idea?

I had 300 rounds of HST in .40 so I pulled the bullets with the idea of loading them up for 10mm. The are 155 grain but they have a cannelure towards the bottom of the of the bullet.

Any difference on how you load these? Crimp any different?
