I couldn't shoot my reloads through it .....chambers were too tight. At the time factory 38-40 rounds were around 90.00 per box. A .401 cast bullet wouldn't drop through any of the chambers!

I had a Buckeye about a year ago and didn't want to ream the chambers out for 38-40 so I shot some 10 mm out of it before trading it for a Henry Big Boy 45 Colt.

Ream the chambers? Both cylinders, 10mm and .38-40, are included with the Buckeye Special, originally.
I know that! Both cylinders were included with mine but I bought it to shoot 38/40!

What's wrong with a 10 mm in a 1911 platform? I don't own and would never own a Block (Glock) even if they were giving them away. As far as EAA goes I don't know anything about them other than they are ugly and pale in comparison to a 1911!

I moved to Texas from PA almost 12 years ago and I'm settling in and getting used to the heat! Much more gun friendly state than PA and they've just recently passed an open carry law. A local car dealer is giving away guns this weekend with the purchase of new vehicles this weekend too. Only in Texas!

If that's the case then I think Karl Rove (the architect) is a complete idiot!

General Discussion / Just got here!

Hello everyone...........I just found this forum after acquiring my first semi-auto in 10 mm. I had a Ruger Buckeye convertible a few years ago so I'm not unfamiliar with the cartridge. Not much luck finding ammo in south Texas so I have an order coming from Midway for dies, brass, bullet mould and sizing die. So if I get a cool day I'll be casting enough bullets to get started. I'm looking forward to firing my new 10 mm.....its a RIA M1911A1 FS Tactical II G10 and its pretty slick!
