10mm semi-auto handguns / Gen 4 Glock 20 setup?
June 05 2015 08:31:33 PM MDT
I have been enjoying this forum over the past few weeks, glad to have stumbled upon it.

I thought I would share a picture of my newest firearm, a gen 4 glock 20.

I have a few questions that I would love to get some feedback on if you all have the time.

For starters, I should mention, my primary use for this 20 will be to carry while hiking, fishing, and hunting. I have a big bore revolver as well but id like to try carrying the 20 as it is noticeably lighter in weight. I don't reload as of yet so anything I shoot will be factory over the counter stuff. Right now I'm seeing some 220 grain hard cast buffalo bore that should fit the bill and is available locally.

So far I have ran 100 rounds of the armscor 180 gr stuff with no issue. Gun functioned flawlessly. I'm now starting to look at aftermarket barrels, and spring arrangements to more ideally handle the hotter loaded 220gr BB hard cast stuff. Is there a preferred brand of stainless barrel? Right now I'm leaning towards the lone wolf stainless 4.6in length as it seams reasonably priced. I have a friend that runs it and has been satisfied with the performance although I don't think he has run much hard cast stuff through it.

If not the lone wolf then what brands would you folks recommend?

Now for my rsa setup.
I'm looking at running either a lone wolf adaptor which I believe allowes me to run any gen 3 rsa in my gen 4. Another option I'm seeing is the glockmeister stainless single spring rsa designed for the gen 4. Is one more reliable than the other? Lastly what weight spring would be ideal for the hot and heavy hard cast stuff from BB and or the Underwood equivalent?

thanks,

Trevor
