Global Ordnance is the US distributor for GP. If you go to their website, it can be a little finicky. Don't use the drop down for handguns, it will only show three Grand Power pistols available. Instead use the "Brands" tab and go to "G" and choose Grand Power. They are listing a standard P40 10mm for $560. I have also seen the P40L 10mm on there for around $770. It seems that the Stribog is hot GP item now and what is being imported most.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: EAA Guns
September 01 2019 06:06:27 PM MDT
Hey, don't mean to hijack the thread, but could you EAA shooters tell me if Wolff has a mag spring kit for the 14 round mags? I need some replacement springs for my Grand Power. Thanks in advance.

I just talked to a member of Redball Sports and he confirmed that they are engineering an extended magazine for the Hi Point 10mm 1095 carbine. He said it will be similar to their 45acp design and will be double stack which transitions to a single stack, to keep it compact.

On a personel note, I would just like to say how impressed I was with their customer service. I had called during the day and been unable to reach anyone. The employee saw that I had called and returned my call after hours, just to answer my question. He also put me on an email alert list, so that I will be informed when the magazines are ready for purchase. This is service above and beyond in my opinion and I am very much looking forward to the relese of these magazines.

General Discussion / Re: 10 Carbine suggestions?

If your wanting it as a walkout gun, you may want to consider another factor, weight. Both the MechTech and the Hi Point are HEAVY. If weight is no problem go with the MechTech, because you can use any Glock or 1911 lower as long as the mag's fit, and you can have a barrel and slide for it and basically have two guns. If weight is an issue look at the Extra in 10mm. They will run about $200 more than the Hi Point, but  seem to be unavailable right now. This is not a slam against the Hi Point, I have one and I love it, but for the specs you stated it may not be the best fit.

General Discussion / Grand Power captured recoil spring
October 23 2018 09:35:28 PM MDT
My first Grand Power P40 10mm came stock with an uncaptured red recoil spring. I have always kept several on hand and changed them out every 1k rounds or so. My newer Gen P40 10mm came with a captured recoil spring and I was wondering if anyone has had to change theirs out yet? If so, do you have to order the entire guide rod/spring asst.? Thanks for any input.

It appears that Lone Wolf Dist. is finally getting around to offering a large frame 45acp/10mm option to their Timberwolf frame. I have been waiting around 3 years for this and now it's finally coming out. However, now that there are so many other pistols being offered, I'm not sure I will jump on it like I planned.

I love shooting my Ruger Take-Downs. I have the regular Ruger Tac take down and I just put together a Ruger Charger take down w/folding pistol brace. Both shoot great and are threaded to take my Huntertown Arms suppressor, but since I also like using my GSG 110 rd drum, both eat a lot of ammo. This isn't a huge problem since bulk is back to practical prices, but I do enjoy "running silent" as well. Anyone who runs .22s knows that target, match and subsonic ammo is more expensive, and my question is...why?

While I could, conceivably, see where match, and to a smaller extent target, requires greater quality control on components and even though they are subsonic, might require a different, more reliable burn recipe of powder, that should not be the case with plain subsonic ammo. Plain subsonic ammo should be using the same components of  bulk ammo, just with a little less powder. So, why is it more expensive?

I know this isn't a  10mm question, but the members here know ammo and I could think of no where else I might find a more informed answer. I appreciate any insights. Have a great day.

They have also put out a Big Bore issue, which is chocked full of 10mm pistols. RIA, EAA, and I believe I saw a Bruin in there. Give it a look.

Omg, When I contacted them about the delayed release, back in the summer, they said it would be ready around ShotShow. I thought they where blowing smoke up my keister. So glad they finally released it.

SavageOne, like you I was deeply bothered by the initial reports about SA and RRA withdrawing opposition to IL SB-1657. Certainly seemed like a sell-out.

But, based on other information I have read after the furor died down, it appears to me that IFMA acted without it's benefactors knowledge or support in removing opposition.  Once it came to the attention of the leadership of these companies, they set the record straight.

Perhaps that was pandering.  IFMA has not produced any documentation indicating that SA or RRA were complicit in the decision to withdraw opposition, and those companies have made their opposition clear.

It has been reported that, at least in 2012, the CEO of SA, Dennis Reese, was also on the board of IFMA. During that year a large amount of money was given to Anti 2A pols in IL. I have seen no evidence that Reese ever stepped down from that board and in fact in his video "coming to God" moment said that they had disbanded the IFMA. How could he disband it if he wasn't a controlling part of it? There is also the statement from Reese that the lobbyist was unaware of the scope of the bill and that he shouldn't be supporting it, the lobbyist claims he was doing exactly what he was paid for. For all of these reasons I will not give on red cent to SA as long as it is in the hands of the Reese family.

I get it, SA makes some cool firearms and people want cool things. I am not condemning those who chose to do business with SA, but do not delude yourselves or try to ease your soul. You are doing business with a company that put it's profit over others' 2A rights. If you are going to do it, please don't follow SA's example...be honest about it.
