General Discussion / Re: Moving to Texas
December 22 2018 06:00:00 PM MST
I moved to Tyler 2 yrs ago, from Shreveport/Bossier City area. Tyler/east Tx is cleaner! People are nicer. Temps are hot n dry. Broadway, or Hwy 69 north/south in south Tyler sucks!! Be warned. Lots of medical  around here. Seems like a descent place to live. We are south, country living.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Recoil spring?

Not sure how to reply what I want to accomplish. I know 10's throw brass really far. Just looking to tone it down a bit? You know, just can't leave a gun in stock condition. 😜

10mm semi-auto handguns / Recoil spring?
December 20 2018 02:22:38 PM MST
Sorry if this gets asked a lot. I've been away awhile. I have a new DE 10mm. I hear I might want to change the recoil spring to s 16 lb spring. Any advice/tips? I do all my own work. Thanks

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: 10mm and Alliant BE-86

I found that 9.0-9.1 of BE-86 works for me. 155 XTP. Starline brass. Rock Island 1911 don't have a chronograph, can't tell you how fast they're moving.

Hey control the trigger, I'm starting loading for my Rock Island 10(1911). What are you shooting your 8.2 through? I'm looking for a starting point for BE-86.

Roger that, Shadow. I just got back from a buddy's store. His cans of 800x also have the same thing as your picture does. I feel better now.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Yellow/tan "chips" in 800x
June 27 2015 06:13:55 AM MDT
My first time using 800X. I notices a few chips or flakes just slightly smaller than the powder itself. The powder stays locked up in a cool dark locale. Is this an agent in the powder for some reason, or could it be contamination? I buy from reputable sources. The color of this stuff is a sawdust color, and shaped like a small disc. ??

This is a Hornady set of dies that crimps with the seating die. I guess I can back it out, but don't I need to crimp?

I've loaded lots of .45's and never saw this bulge. These are my first attempts at 10mm. Starline brass. Hornady die kit. It appears to be the bottom of the bullet. Could it be my crimping is too tight?
