This is an old thread but I may have another option for you. I haven't purchased a leather chest holster because when I hunt I'm gone for 1-2 weeks and depending on what I'm hunting I may not have access to heat to dry out a wet leather holster. So, years ago I bought a nylon chest holster for my 7.5 inch Ruger Super Redhawk. This holster also fits my S&W 629, it fit my G20 and as you can see in the pics, it fits my new G40 10mm long slide. The company that made mine is apparently gone but their successor has a web site and they make holsters specifically for Desert Eagles so one of their holsters should fit your Witness Hunter. I would give em a call and discuss your options. Good luck!

Sep, I spoke with the owner of that company a few days ago and she thought she would be able to help me.  I am going to be placing an order this week for one of their holsters.  I had to get my credit card company involved with Panther Creek.  I figured 24 weeks was long enough to wait for them to send me something I was promised in 3-5 weeks.  I was able to get it charged back, so thankfully I'm not out any money.  I honestly don't care if it's leather, nylon, kydex or unicorn hide.  I would just like to find something I can use for hunting.

As for Panthercreekgunleather, I hope no one else makes the same mistake I did.  I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they failed miserably.

Here we are at 20 weeks since ordering from Panthercreek Gunleather and I have given up.  My next calls will be the BBB and the Attorney General of Kentucky.  I've left this company close to 20 voicemails, 10 emails and I've even sent them a Facebook message.  in the 138 days since I've placed my order, the owner has called me exactly twice.  Once just before Memorial Day to promise that my holster was shipping that week and I would have it in 7 days, and once when he called me after 8PM about 3 weeks back and I missed the call.  Other than those two times, absolutely no response from them.

I took a chance and it backfired miserably.  I guess I will start a new search and try to find something that will fit my Witness Hunter before deer season begins in November.  I can't stress enough not to to do business with Panthercreek Gunleather as apparently they just collect money from people and don't produce any kind of product.

Ramjet, do you have the Witness Hunter?  If so, which model of Grizzly Tuff do you use, the standard semi Auto?

It's now closing in on 10 weeks for my Panther Creek holster.  3 phone calls and 2 emails and not a single response as of today.

I'm closing in on 13 weeks and no holster.  Mark (owner) finally answered the phone about 2 weeks back and promised me my holster would ship on the Friday before Memorial Day.  That was almost 2 weeks ago and still nothing.  I left yet another voicemail today.  Let's see how long this one takes.

I have two different chest holsters; A Grizzly Tough great holster affordable and adaptable and comfortable. Athens one of the ever popular Guides Choice well constructed rugged and tough takes some breakin to get comfortable.

Between the two for over performance which includes;

Price
Comfort
Ease of adjustment.
Flexibility (several guns fit)
Extra round carry
I prefer the durable material for bad weather over the leather. (although we all agree a nice
t fitted and constructed leather holster is very nice looking.)

Both holsters provide easy draw and presentation.
Both retention systems are reliable and durable.
Both companies provide excellent CS and relatively quick delivery.
Both have easyntomuse websites.

I like the Grizzly Tough (this based on my own subjective opinion using both holsters)

Well, just made my first call to Panthercreek, I guess we'll see what happens.  It looks like it's been about 7 weeks since I ordered and they quoted me 3-5.  Hopefully they will get back to me soon with good news.  Redbaron, did you order yours for the Hunter as well?

No scope yet.  Against my better judgement, I ordered a chest holster from PantherCreekGunleather.  It's only been about 3 weeks, but hopefully they will come thru.  I've looked around at the Cabelas offerings, but I'm not sure if anything they currently have will work.  I'll take a peek next time I make it into a store.

Thanks again!

Hi everyone.  My name is Jay and I just picked up my first 10mm tonight, an EAA WITNESS HUNTER.  I'm looking forward to shooting it soon and hopefully take a whitetail with it this fall.  I live in Minnesota, just south of Minneapolis

Hi All, I just joined the site after buying a Witness Hunter.  My issue is trying to find a chest holster so I can use it for deer hunting in MN.  It tends to get a bit chilly up here, so a belt holster isn't going to work.  I wanted to go with a Diamond D, but they let me know they've never made one for this gun.

Does anyone have a recommendation?  I don't really have a preference between kydex and leather, and while i'd like to keep the cost down, I'll pay whatever I need to so I can carry it in the woods.

Thanks again,

Jay
