I have not seen that particular Kimber, but I did sight in a Kimber super jagare 10mm longslide with a Leupold  red dot on it. My local gun shop asked if I would do for a customer of theirs. Quite frankly it was the best shooting 10mm pistol I have ever fired.
I do own a Kimber Target longslide, but my G40 with it's leupold red dot sight will out shoot it and my EAA hunter, and Remington Hunter. The kimber shot very consistant 1.5 inch groups off my pistol
rest@50yrds. Neeless to say I was very impressed. It's also north of $2000. A little out of my wheelhouse of price, fine gun though. If this new Kimber shoots that well they have winner on their hands, provided it's not
to much money.

If I am not mistaken, you can also fire 454 casull , and 45 colt in the that patricular pistol making it very tempting for me. I will own one one day for sure.

I have the Remington, and the Witness, and G-40 Glock, and Kimber target longslide. With open sights the Kimber is the most accurate (and well built), but with a red dot on the Glock it will out shoot all the others. The witness is built like a tank, very nice gun, tight and nicely finished, I just don't shoot it that well. The remington surprised me. it was the second most accurate with open sights, tough call between it and the Kimber. The Kimber is tighter and finished a little better. Just to let you know I shot all the pistols on a pistol rest. Between the two you listed I would choose the Remington to hunt with as I shoot that platform better, and the witness for woods carry because of capacity.

Right out of the box! You can put a 20lb. spring in it if you plan on shooting upper end ammunition.

If you do your part it will be extremely accurate. I personally don't think the trigger needs work at all and will wear-in over time.
Ready too go right out of the box, Intercooler is right all I have done to mine is add the 20lb spring for the hot stuff.

Welcome aboard Huckleberry. I think any of those would be a fine choice. Don't leave out EAA's 10mm options which I feel are an excellent choice for the money.

I have a set on my long slide hunter. Adjustable rear and fiber optic front. They are made in Italy and are very nice, but are not cheap. Sounds like you got a bargain. As I recall mine were about $150 for the pair , and well worth it. I'm sure you will be happy with yours.

I agree with ottoman, I have a Glock G40, a Remington R1 hunter, and the Witness hunter. The Witness hunter is my preferred hunting pistol. The other two are fine pistols, but for the money I would say the Witness hunter is the best.

I have the Remington R1 LS hunter. Very well put together, and it's tack driver.  Nothing wrong with the Kimber, but I prefer the 6 inch barrel of the Remington. The Kimber 6 inch barrel option is to rich for my blood. If you prefer the 5 inch barrel then the Eclipse would be fine choice as would the camp guard 10 which looks sweet too.
