Anybody try any Check Mate mags in their 1911's?
Pretty sure they make the factory mags for the Kimber 10s(Newer ones) and the Ruger 1911s. I've had no issues with either ones, same with the Trip 10rder and the SS Metalforms(had issues with factory RIA metalform)

Is Metalform a company?

Side note, do you guys know where to buy the rubber piece that's screwed to the bottom of the mags?  My 2 ordered did not come with these

Yes, Metalform is a manufacturer.  They do a good bit of OEM on Magazines.

A few base pads on Ebay:  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R1.TR2.TRC1.A0.H1.X1911+magazine+bas.TRS0&_nkw=1911+magazine+base+pads&_sacat=0

Just so you are aware:  you are not limited to RIA Magazines for RIA 1911s; the magazines are platform (1911) specific but not manufacturer specific.  The original poster asked about RIA magazines specifically.  I can get Tripp Cobra Mags which make me happier than RIA's by Metalform for about the same money Advanced Tactical gets for the Metalforms.

or go stainless for 10 bucks less http://www.brownells.com/magazines/handgun-magazines/magazines/1911-10mm-magazine-prod71633.aspx?avs%7cManufacturer_1=METALFORM

just look on MidwayUSA or brownells...i use these on my 10mm mags https://www.midwayusa.com/product/277586/glend-arms-tactical-edge-magazine-base-pad-1911-rubber-black-pack-of-3  a 4-40 tap is handy to have around when messing with those

Edit....if i was a betting man the factory pads would be these www.brownells.com/magazines/handgun-magazines/magazine-parts/magazine-floorplates/1911-magazine-bumper-pad-prod24857.aspx?avs|Make_3=1911

really depends on how much you want to buy at one time...plus i haven't seen blue dot for a bit on the supply sites i frequent or locals

http://www.xtremebullets.com/10-40-s/48045.htm

first time buyers are free shipping you can catch deals quite a bit BUT youll want the HPs or HPCB(for hot work..good to 1500 or so) ones

as far as powder

my local is really high on powder(anywhere from $5 -10 a lb), primers(7$ a thousand...cci 300), and bullets($5-6 on 180/200 xtps) compared to powder valley so shop around and tally it up. If you want to just start with a lb of powder and a few hundred primers/bullets then your going to eat it(plus i shoot anytime i can so yea).

starrett punches and brownells hammers....1/4 aluminum key stock like what Dawson ships works pretty good for drifting sights
