Sooo...I got a denial from sig sauer on the magazine rebate on the status that the receipt was not during the promotion period despite their VP stating that all gt20's would be approved whether they fell in the timeframe or not. Hurray for sig's inability to follow up on commitments.

I just...wow. Sig...just...wow.

You may want to check further into this. Dury's told me Sig was honoring the rebate for GT20 owners regardless of the date. I sent mine in about 10 days ago and immediately received email confirmation from Sig as well as another email stating my package had shipped. I received the 2 mags and Sig gun bag last week! Combined with the 3rd mag Sig supplied with the gun for shipping them late, that's a total of 5 mags supplied by Sig for the GT20. Not bad at all :)

Sig P220s and P226s have always been known to have nice triggers. I haven't handled the P220 DA/SA in 10mm yet but I still find it surprising that it would be that awful to you. Might want to check another one if you get the chance, perhaps you got the exception in that store (?).

Ive owned several 10mm's over the years.....S&W 1006, Glock 20, Glock 29, Delta Elite. I will say the sig P220 Match Elite is BY FAR THE GREATEST OF THEM ALL. This thing has been beefed up substantially by Sig to withstand a LIFETIME of full power 10mm loads. It is perfect in fit, form and function and it just plain fits my hand better than even my 1911's do. I love the DA/SA firing system.

If you can afford it, GET ONE.  There is no compromise.

I finally had a chance to shoot one last week. It is definitely built well. I'm holding out for the SAO model to finally come out.

The GT20 from Dury's IS SAO unlike the Match Elite two tone which is DA/SA :)

I think the capacity issue is a bit overblown. I mean, no one complains that a P220 in .45 ACP is a problem with only 8 rounds yet all of a sudden a P220 in 10mm with 8 rounds is? I like my 1911's and nothing will replace them but I never saw 7-8 rounds as a problem there either. Bottom line is Sig makes a nice gun and if they make it in 10mm, I want one :) I'm not crazy about the price either as I wish it was cheaper but its not too far off the price mark of some of their other higher end P226's and P220's in other calibers. I think a company like Sig jumping into the 10mm market is a big deal.

8 round capacity just won't cut it. I want to write Sig and let them know how I feel, but don't want to sound ungrateful.

My biggest concern is that these things don't sell and they cancel the program. How many people are really going to drop $1,200-$1,400 on one of these? What is the role this gun can fill that others can't? What will make it successful?

Will a police department pick it up? Obviously not with an 8 round capacity and that price tag.
Military? Not a chance.
Concealed carry? The 220 is a huge gun and there are better options.
Home protection? Obviously 10mm is great but just about any pistol/revolver can work for that.
Hunting? Possibly. The single action model might make a good deer/black bear/hog pistol. But a Witness Hunter has a 6 inch barrel and costs less.

The only thing I see this pistol being good for is competition shooting. But that won't sell guns. Our competition shooting section of this forum only has 5 topics. Sig won't make money off of those type of collectors.

Sig needs to go back to the drawing board, come up with a 15 round P226 or P227 for around $850-$1,100 depending on features. I'd buy two on the spot.

The 10mm round isn't all that popular in military or LE anyway. I doubt Sig was aiming at that market with a P220 in 10mm. I do believe they have at least one hunting variation of it planned. Sure I'd like to get it for much less too but you can make the same argument about most of their guns, a P226 in 9mm is a lot more expensive than a Glock or Beretta. But they still sell. The capacity issue, well that's another matter. Most other 10mm guns are 1911 based with not much more capacity, yes there are exceptions like Glock but for the most part its a 1911 world in 10mm. The P220 is a quality gun so chambering it in 10mm makes sense to me. It gives us one more option in 10mm :)

I have to say a Colt Delta Elite for $800.00 is not the norm on Gunbroker and hasn't been in quite some time. And whenever one does sell in the $800.00 range its usually not in the greatest condition. I do love them though :) Still, I think I will need one of these new Sig P220's to add to my 10mm collection. The lack of higher capacity does not bother me and I would still rather have this Sig than a something like a Glock in 10mm for less money. That big, heavy P220 sounds more appealing to me for chambering 10mm :)

Handguns / Re: 45 Wildey Magnum

I know there are other great manufacturers in the area. I would think however that if you're starting up a new company then why not go to a more gun friendly state than NY or NJ?
As far as the old equipment goes, I have no idea who or where the original stuff is. I always thought the King of Jordan had all that stuff from when they merged and were working on the Jaws Viper gun. Supposedly the Jordanian Govt. had no interest in the Wildey itself. If so, perhaps they left it there? I really don't know, I'm only speculating. Either way I wish Wildey Moore great success if he starts up again. I'm a big fan of the Wildey handgun!

Supposedly there is a group of investors who are trying to bring the Wildey back into production and have Wildey Moore working with them.  I will believe that when I see it.

Starline is supposed to run 475 brass next month and the same group will be manufacturing ammo shortly there after.

We will see I guess.

I also heard that Wildey Moore wanted to start building them again over a year ago. Would love to see that happen again but who knows. I also heard NY or NJ was being considered as the location, I forget which. Not sure why he would go there to build them.

Interesting hand cannon.

The coolest handgun ever made! I don't own one in .45 Wildey Magnum though. Mine are .45 Win Mag, .44 Auto Mag, and .475 Wildey Magnum.

I have my Colt Delta Elites but I also like Sig. I hope to pick up one of these new P220's in 10mm when they release them. And as others have said, it is to our benifit when more manufacturers jump into the 10mm ring. I saw Sig's move with this P220 along with Federal's announcement of their new 10mm load as good news. If others jump back in maybe 10mm ammo won't seem semi exotic to many as it does now.

General Discussion / Re: Introductions

Hello everyone. My name is Rudy and I'm from NE Ohio. 10mm is one of my favorite rounds! I got into it when I discovered the Colt Delta Elite several years ago. Hard to beat a 1911 in 10mm I thought :) Currently have a Caspian based 10mm about about to go into a build up to add to the Delta Elite collection :) looks like a great forum for 10mm here and decided I needed to join for New Year's Eve
