Rifles / Re: 6.5 Creedmoor ... Am I Alone?
December 02 2014 12:38:44 PM MST
I have a Ruger American a.k.a. the ranch/beater/farm rifle I carry with me around my property on an ATV.  I have a Ruger M77 Predator, and a Savage Lightweight Hunter.

Also, I'm 'in line' at Ruger's custom shop to have a Gunsite Scout chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.  It's not Ruger's Custom Shop per se, but a guy who they refer all of their Custom Shop deals to.  I bought a Gunsite off of a buddy back in March for $600, sent it to the man that does the Ruger Customs, and paid him $450 including shipping to rebarrel and chamber the Gunsite in 6.5 Creedmoor.  I have a regular Gunsite Scout in 308 that I love, and wanted one in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Rifles / 6.5 Creedmoor ... Am I Alone?
December 02 2014 12:09:50 AM MST
I have several rifles chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.  I love this round and think it's an all round perfect cartridge for where I live.

Do any of you own a rifle or two in 6.5 Creedmoor?

I prefer Trijicon HD Night Sights on my Glock 29 Gen 4, but for my 20 Gen 4 I absolutely LOVE my Viking Tactics dual sights.    http://www.vikingtactics.com/product-p/vtac-vsgl.htm

For a holster ... well ... check my signature.  I'm partial to my own stuff!   ;D

That would be a sweet little glass breaker for a first responder or LEO.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Krumfola!  Kind of cool that I stumbled across this website, and found this post!

We're a small business that is growing by leaps and bounds, thanks to our loyal customer base and fans.  We're teaming up with some big names in the shooting industry next year, and plan on pressing the flesh at Shot Show 2015 to become a major contender in the U.S. holster and shooting sports communities.

Here's a link to a 'recent' review of our Woodsman Chest Rig.  Enjoy!

In case any of you missed the announcement.... Sig announced the release of a Sig 220 chambered in 10mm.

I'm already saving my pennies.    ;)

Now that you mention it!   I know someone who makes a holster similar to the one David Johnston of Diamond D makes ..... me!   :D

Here's mine ... at a better price point and more affordable.

10mm Hunting / Re: I used to disregard Glocks
December 01 2014 11:43:55 PM MST
I'm with the OP.  I used to HATE Glocks with a passion.  Then I grew older and wiser!  I'm not a Fan Boy by any means, but it's so much easier to pack a Glock in the foothills of Appalachia when I Elk hunt, or hunting the flatlands at home for deer.

Now that I think about it.  Pistol hunting is what brought back interest in meat harvesting for me!

I was watching some odd channel on TV one night, some years back, and Keith Warren came on a hunting show carrying a Glock 20!  I was in disbelief!  I've been hooked on pistol hunting since.

I'm with my_old_glock on this one!

I sold a Colt Delta Elite, recent production, back in the summer and haven't thought about it twice.

The only one I hate that I DID sell were 6 Norinco SKS rifles that I bought in 1993 or 1994, it has been too long.  :(   Anyway, I bought them at a local gun store, Uncle Lees, and they had them 1 for $89.99 or 3 for $69.99!     There were 3 in a 'Hay Crate' and fresh off the boat!  Matching numbers, pristine, and factory new condition.

Through the years I let 2 or 3 go, and then another one or two.  Now I only have 1 of them left, and the market on them has quadrupled what I bought them for!   :(  The last one I sold was right after Sandy Hook, and the guy offered me $250 for one.  I thought he was crazy, but I didn't think twice about it since he was happy and I was happy!

I was in Louisville a couple of months ago, and saw a beater Norinco SKS sell for $500 at a gun show!

General Discussion / Re: Berry's MFG Berry's Bullets

Sounds like a good deal to me!  I've always liked Berry's and use the #54175 165 gr. Hollow Base Flat Point Thick Plate in all of my matches.  Very consistent, and easy to lead.  Keep up the good work!
