I'm relatively new to 10mm and have a G20SF.

I heard from guys on various forums everything from predictions of doom to cautions not to use it without a replacement barrel, one "fully supported" etc.

Is this true if all I'm shooting is factory loads/commercial ammo, even the hot stuff like Buffalo Bore or Corbon?

And/or is it true that the notion of having something better "supported" really is for the sake of "do it yourself" reloads that are intended to push the performance envelope on 10mm cases, shooting them really hot?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice, appreciate it.

Those are just great looking pistols, wow.

Would love to shoot one some day.

For now all I have is the G20.

Ungoofed the link.

The Glock 20 is the 10mm powerhouse from Glock, build specifically for the 10mm, one of the most powerful rounds for a practical semi-automatic pistol. The G20 is not for little girls, but it is certainly manageable.

I gave my new G20SF a great workout the other day and here are the results. The Buffalo Bore was particularly fun to shoot.

What's been your experience with the G20?

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: My First 10mm

I got a kick out of the billowing clouds of smoke coming out of it when I shot Buffalo Bore's 220 grain hard cast lead cartridges.

Blasted it good and proper with Buffalo Bore 220 grain hard cast bullets, among others.

I recently purchased a portable reactive target system from Challenge Targets and gave it a good "shake down cruise" out at my gun club. I'm very impressed with it and particularly enjoy how truly portable it is and easy to take down and put together.

I pushed it to its limits by blasting it with 10mm Buffalo Bore 220 grain loads, full power stuff.

NOTE: I did not receive any compensation or incentive for making this video, just purely interested in reviewing it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a way to do steel plate shooting with portable, and affordable, gear. I bought the targets, etc.

Here is a link to the video.

Picked up my first 10mm, a G20SF with Ghost trigger system and Wolff spring, like new, original box, papers, etc.

Got it for $460.

First range session went great, show Remington UMC 180 and Buffalo Bore 220 grain hard cast bullets.

Handled it all like a champ.

Video to follow.

OK, great, I may go put my down payment on it tomorrow then. Phew.

And, I didn't think Glock released a Gen 4 version of the G20, right?

Where are you? $439 for a NIB Glock 20 full size frame almost sounds too good to be true.

I have a line on a gently used one this morning for $75

+1 for the GUTL.

I can get a Glock 20 from a local gun store for $550, plus tax, of course.

I can get a Glock 20 from Bud's for $549, plus the FFL transfer fee on my end.

I'm thinking of buying local and just want to check to see if you guys think this is a good price for a G20.

Try this and read it thoroughly...http://www.firearmstactical.com/pdf/fbi_10mm_notes.pdf
I'll add that the FBI actually liked the 10mm for what it brought to the table, however their criterior is what changed their decision over the years.  The 40S&W was made to better fit their needs and criterior of 180grs JHP @ 980 fps for barriers, clothing, etc
Just remember LEO work in close proximity of each other, they have a duty to act and protect lives, they have force in numbers and they basicly try to bring someone to justice.

For me 10mm is a very versitile cartridge and can be loaded to many bullet weights and velocities from mild to wild and this speaks volumes for using it in any situation from Self Defensive to Hunting or just plain fun plinking! ;D

Sir, wow, thank you. May I be blunt? I am grateful that this is a new and small forum. If I would have posted this elsewhere I would have to endure bullcrap answers until somebody finally offered up some very hard and cold factual data, as you have offered and as another member has offered.

Thank you very much.

General Discussion / Why 10mm?

Perhaps this is already posted here, but.....

Can somebody link me to a non-emotional, clear, cogent, intelligent presentation that would answer the question:

"Why use 10mm?"

Thanks.

Fear of....

What means for my bank account.
What it means for my lens budget.
What it may mean for my wife.
Hopefully I can buy a few more cameras for my boudoir photography hobby as well.

Just saying hello. I've been intrigued by 10mm for a long time and I fear I will very soon be the owner of a 10mm lens. I'm trying to decide which one. I am also very interested in photography like some of you.
