I'm leaning toward an RM-09 since the smaller dot will work better for my eyes ( astigmatism sucks :/ )

Interestingly enough I found a company called Dara Holsters that makes a holster not just for the glock 20, but also does one SPECIFICALLY for the Glock 40...and in left hand draw! With an RMR cut :D I ordered one so as soon as I get it I'll let everyone know how it fits and works...

My first was A Para Longslide Hunter... Love that thing :) Its over all my single favorite pistol! Wish they would have been able to keep making them :(

I'm still trying to decide if I'd rather have a "dual illumination" RMR or an battery powered Led model for my Model 40.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Well I finally got my second 10mm!

Last time I was seriously looking at another 10mm I'd seen a glock 20sf and was thinking about getting it...and didnt.

Glad I didnt! I ended up with a Glock 40 for about 750$ out the door... Which isn't a screaming deal or anything but Hey, it's a longslide! :) I'm really excited to have it!

I sat down and took it apart, oiled it and installed a zev connector from a "starter" spring set ( but none of the springs... I didnt like the idea of a lighter striker spring, and the trigger spring Seems pretty stiff. Safety spring was crunchy feeling... So I basically ended up with a connector ) and I like where it's at now. Sort of feels like a two stage trigger, you pull it under some tension, it hits a point ( and softly clicks) and a wee little farther it breaks. I seem to be able to keep the sights well aligned with this trigger. I'm working on getting a set of suppressor sights put on and then it's getting an RMR for it!

I hope to get it out to shoot soon, even with just the base sights. I think I'm going to enjoy this!

One could always refinish it, right?  What an odd modification...

Nice, you got one of the tan ones.... I love my black one. My favorite pistol!

And yeah.... make sure the sights are tightened down, it may not come loose at 1k rounds, but it WILL come loose ..eventually....

Only real problem I had was my extractor had no tension, and had to retension it.

Oh, and If you get a recoil spring plug that allows you to use standard length recoil springs, you can use standard glock flatwire springs on the orginal guide rod.

Well, I dont have it YET  :)) working on it though.... whats nice is it looks like all Ill really need is a guide rod because I already have my LS Hunter setup to use glock recoil springs and have a spare 20lber lying around from when I was tinkering, and even a left handed large frame glock holster I picked up forever ago for nothing! Just would need some 15rd mags and id be set!  :D

Well, another question I have is, do you REQUIRE another barrel to safely digest stuff like Underwood?
My preferred load is the 180gr golddot....

I know cast is a no-no in the polygonal bore, but what about plated, coated bullets? I do reload, and as I understand it a big draw of aftermarket barrels are in the tighter chambers helping case life, but if I dont HAVE to have anything but a stouter spring to have it run well and safely with the good stuff I think I could be happy.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Looking at..... a GLOCK!?
August 01 2015 03:13:23 PM MDT
Ive found myself in a peculiar situation....
I went into my favorite local gunshop, and the gentleman behind the counter ( who knows my love of 10mm) says he has something to show me. He goes into the back, and comes out with a glock case.

He says check it out, and hands it to me. Turns out its a Glock 20sf. I get a grip on it, and surprisingly, its actually not uncomfortable! He says try the trigger. So I do. And it was the sweetest glock trigger id ever tried. Was sort of like a smooth da pull but lighter... says it has a ghost trigger in it?

Previous owner added an extended slide stop(ugh), adjustable glock sights, and the ghost trigger. Got to looking it over, and it doesn't look to have been shot much, just enough for a bit of brass to mark the breech face, and leave a little soot. Still had some of the copper colored grease on a few spots. Second mag in the box is unused, one in the gun had a soot level like that of the gun. Unfortunately, both mags are 10rd'ers... in the case all the stuff is there, warranty card and all. Fired case envelope says it was shipped early 2011...

They want 479$ for it. I kinda want it too.... my Ls Hunter COULD stand a buddy, and the glock would be a little lighter for carry (when I feel like carrying something smaller/lighter anyway)

So, am I mad for considering a GLOCK, regardless of my love for good old fashioned steel?

General Discussion / Re: Had To Laugh At This

Now that, if they were good quality inside, id sure buy them, for a reasonable price...

This reminds me of something I saw a while back that id love to have: a hat band for a drover style hat ive got, that had .40 cases in bullet bands.... but hey, switching those out for 10mm cases? Easy! Problem was they didnt have any black or Brown leather versions, just like reds and greens, and blues! Oh well, one of these days...

Now that IS nice!  ;D looks like it was worth the wait!

Well this sucks.  :o maybe remington will make the LS Hunter as a remington product? It would be nice...

General Discussion / Re: 10mm Magnum brass Ouestion
January 31 2015 03:54:13 PM MST
Perhaps you could use cut down .30 remington cases for this project? If the 10mm mag brass is the same excepting length, the .30 rem certainly wouldn't be.... id imagine after trimming to length, you would need to open the brass up at the new case mouth. Would be time intensive, but so would cutting down 10 mag  ;D but for such a cool project id imagine it would be worth it!

Sounds KINDA like the "pistol purchase permit" here in NC, except you have to get a judge to sign rather then the sheriff  :o do you have to jump through the same hoops if you have a CCW?
