Sadly, the same thing happened to my Shield. Not as severe, and sadly my fault entirely.

I hope anyone that is interested in this rifle in 10mm takes the time to drop TNW a message.

Heck, even if you don't want and just stopped by to look, do me a favor and send them an e-mail. It can't hurt.

It would seem the 40cal rifle with the 45 mag well would be a go for 10mm, if the barrel was chambered for 10mm...
That was my thought. That's why I thought it was a natural for them. I really hope they decide to do it. In theory all they need is a reamer. They have the other components.

My favorite is the 5.5" SS Super Blackhawk with round triggerguard.

If you want to shoot full house loads go that route.

If you want a lighter easier to carry gun maybe look at either the New Vaquero or Flat Top in 45 Colt or even better 44 Special.

The response I got was they didn't have immediate plans for a 10mm but I wasn't the only one that had asked and maybe after they got their rimfire version launched they would look at it.

It seems to me to be a natural. They're made for Glock mags. They make the .40 Version so they have barrels and bolts. Their mag housings are made to swap out...

My only question would be as with the Mech Tech being a blowback design, can it handle 10mm loads without ruining brass? Hopefully, they have a fully supported barrel.

Miscellaneous 10mm Firearms / TNW Aero Survival Rifle
April 05 2015 08:04:12 AM MDT
I just learned about this rifle yesterday, and yes I know they don't offer it in 10mm. I did send the Company an e-mail asking if they would consider chambering the 10mm. It seems a natural to me. They chamber the 40 S&W and the system can take Glock 21 mags so...

Anyway, if this rifle appeals to anyone else drop them a line. Who knows???

I guess it depends on the use. Mine is a nightstand-woods walking gun. I know I'm at least going for fiber optic and if I'm going that far might as well have tritium too

My 29 has TFOs. I think the 20 will get the same...

10mm semi-auto handguns / Bought a Gen 4 G20 Today!

I felt the Gen 4 29 was getting lonely so I bought a 20 today. I really like the Gen 4 grip. I'd post a pic but really figure everyone here has seen a bone stock G20.

I have TFOs on my 29. When I get the 20 I will no doubt go the same route.

As far as holsters go, I'm searching as well. I would really like to find a holster that is not drop leg but maybe puts the butt of the gun at waist level or a little below. Maybe similar but not quite at the Sam Brown duty belt level. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've also considered just getting another El Paso Saddlery 1942 holster.

Being a lefty usually means custom orders...

10mm Hunting / Re: recommendations for a pistol.

I see the OP has made his decision and it sounds like it will be a great gun.

As to shooting Glocks I was reminded of this yesterday as my 15 yr old son tried my Gen 4 29 for the first time, and that is that it seems to me the first time any honest person shoots a Glock, you don't hit right where you feel you should. The more you shoot a Glock, if you choose to own and shoot Glocks, the more you get used to it and tune into the gun. And it really doesn't take long. Maybe a couple trips to the range.

Now, I have Glocks, 1911s, revolvers (DA & SA), and M&Ps so I don't believe I'm any kind of fanboy.

If you want to shoot a Glock you can.

I prefer the TruGlo TFO sights.

General Discussion / Re: Introductions

MCQUADE,
I did go to MCC. Lived in Albemarle for almost 3 years. Worked on Badin lake and in Biscoe.

Redbaron007,  eventually, after the kids get out of school I want to move south again. My Harley spends too much time moth balled!

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Glock 20 Gen 4

This is an interesting topic. As I posted in my introduction I just bought a "used" Gen 4 G29. I say "used" because honestly there is no wear anywhere on the gun that suggests that it was shot much by the previous owner.

Anyway, yesterday I got the chance to take this pistol to the range. With me I took an old box ($14.95/50) of PMC 170 gr JHP, a new box of Remington 180 gr Metal Case, and two handloads. The two handloads used Berry's
155 gr Plated Bullets, brand new Starline brass and 7.0 and 7.5 grains of WSF. I shot 10 rounds of the PMC JHP's, then 10 rounds of the Remington load. Then I loaded a mag with 5 rounds of the 7.0 gr load. The slide locked
back after the 4th round. After firing that 5th round I ran through 5 rounds of the 7.5 grain load with no problems. Then I ran another 10 of the Remington through the gun with no issues. Then I loaded 8 in one mag and 7 in
another of the 7.0 grain load and the side locked back with round to go in the first mag but then I had no problems with the other mag. Thinking I had narrowed it down to a mag issue I loaded the questionable mag with 8
rounds of Remington and had no issues with that mag. So, I did the same with the PMC and had no issues either.

Now, 7.0 grains of WSF is a very light load (Hodgdon lists 6.8 grains as giving 1100 fps) so it seems I kind of am having the opposite experience from Panda where light loads are giving me issue where the 7.5 grain load did not,
and neither did the factory ammo.

Was it just me? It's been several years since I have shot a Glock but I do shoot regularly-1911, M&P, 44 revolver etc.
