Thanks for ya'll comments.  I've got one for awhile now.  Absolutely no regrets.  I made a few mods to it, most important being the Angled Foregrip.  It lets my left arm support the front weight of the CCU while steadying my aim, not rested.  It's heavy and solid, in fact, I wouldn't recommend addition a lot of stuff to it.

I put a Magpul hook to the top rail, rear of the rail.  Attached a single point sling to it and it would balance nicely.  It's time to go hunt wild hogs!

I told the guys at my club that I got a 16" barrel and slide for my Glock20.  They'd look at me puzzled.... ;D

I bought my Sub2000 9mm long ago, just over $320.  Made it really sweet with buttery soft trigger yet sharp break.  I sold it recently for $650 !  The feature of being able to fold it into a computer case, plus limited mfgr volume, gave rise to the increase in value.  Still a flimsy setup, though.

That sales proceed went to a 10mm MT CCU!   So in reality, that CCU is ... really sweet for me.  The length of a CCU with stock is around 31" which can fit into a lot of things.

Keltec cautioned people from shooting +P+ 9mm ammo.  That worried me.  Barrel hasn't enough steel to it?  It actually impressed me as fragile upon closer inspection.

MechTech has a lot of mass to the barrel thickness.  That was the first thing that impressed me.  Got Beef.  They said hot rounds would be preferred in the CCU.  I shot a lot of them, hundreds so far.  Very nice.

But then if you use them enough, bullets should polish them any way, right?

That's the common theory, but no, not really. Jacketed bullets will wear a bore over time, but don't polish it. If you want to shoot a bunch of paper patched bullets, that will eventually polish the bore.

I have done this.  It doesn't take a huge number to clean up a bore either.  Couple hundred rounds will show considerable difference in a rough bore.  Sure is a pain to make all those paper patched bullets though.

There's a trick to that.  Roll them up like a cigarette then sit on them for about 8hr.  The warmth and pressure will quench paper fibers.  (could also be the gas)

....

Rifling:  Button rifling stresses steel but leaves behind a highly polished finish.  Broach cut rifling doesn't stress steel but doesn't leave as polished of a finish except that the barrel may still be polished afterward.
...

Now I know why my SLake barrel has streaks between the lands and my KKM is mirror-finished land or groove.

But then if you use them enough, bullets should polish them any way, right?

Hello, I'm a newbie here but had been doing 10mm Glocks for awhile.  I'm trying to research as much as I can about the MechTech conversion and what people have experienced about it.  So if you have one or held one, I'd appreciate any feedback!  Thanks.
