10mm Hunting / Re: 180 XTP's For Black Bears?

I have killed one black bear with the 10mm. I would not hesitate for a moment to use the 180gr XTP.

Go with the Delta, I love mine. While I have an affinity for Glocks also and own one, I will never sell my Delta Gold Cup.

I have no complaints with plastic mainspring housings.  Great place to cut some weight from the gun that doesn't matter one bit.

Pretty sure it was Alex Hamilton that said despite all the flak about plastic MSH, he has never seen one break.

It needed a little tuning to get it running but it's flawless now.

Any details on what he did to get it running?
Extractor crapped. He put in a Wilson Combat 9mm/38 Super extractor and now it runs great.

The one 10mm Kimber that I am familiar with belongs to a friend of mine. It has better case support than my Colt and seems just as accurate. It needed a little tuning to get it running but it's flawless now. I would definitely consider a Kimber 10mm.

Don't over look the Kimbers. You might have to replace the extractor and a couple of other parts but the one that I have seen are accurate and reliable.....after an extractor replacement. Brian Pierce did an article a couple of years ago on the 10mm and the Kimber he was shooting shot 1" groups at 25 yards. So if you can't find a DW Razorback don't over look the Kimber.

You don't have to shoot nuclear loads to enjoy your 10mm. I shoot fairly hot loads, 200 gr@ 1200fps, 180gr @ 1300fps in my non-ramped barrel and I am plenty happy.

@Shooter 25, With 800-X I would say I can go about 1.0 grain of powder less than a RAMPED barrel like Harry Gunner's Barsto or my friend's Kimber Eclipse, which has a ramped barrel. A Delta Elite loaded hot is still plenty of gun though. Here I am pushing its limit with this cow elk. Load is 200gr Nosler JHP over 800-X @ 1200fps. Sorry but I don't experience the brass nick like you do. .

. For lions a Delta Elite loaded with a good 180 JHP over a hefty charge of 800-X, Long Shot, AA#9, AA#7 will do the job plenty efficiently. Most lions weigh less than 150 lbs which are less than a lot of human adults. This one was about 170lbs and he qualified for the B&C book.

You would need a RAMPED Barsto or any others that are RAMPED. They would have to mill your receiver to put that ramped barrel in there. I own a DE and my buddy has a Kimber which is ramped. With equal hot loads, his brass doesn't bulge as much.
