The new witness pistols are so much better than the old ones for sure.

I'm pretty happy with a 15 round .45 super but this gun with, like, 17 rounds of 10mm goodness.........that would be a great handgun.

I have the SAR k2p it's a reliable gun but it feels like it was made from legos and it also isn't rated for +p. I paid around $250 for it new.

Fusion Firearms Grand Sport 10mm is 16 +1 of "10MM goodness".  Tracy

Very nice pistol but single action (I prefer SA/DA for carry) and quite a bit over my pay grade. The .45 SAR is a 500.00 gun. But yeah, NICE!

General Discussion / Re: 8mm vs level III AR500 armor

Based on my talks with an Iraq war veteran it will go through.  If it fails I have some armor piercing made by FNH in 1940 that should.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: New Rock Commander 10 mm

It's a good gun I had issues with the slide stop but after that it's run 100% in 10mm and my .40 barrel. It's currently on my side so it has earned my trust.

Then as I do urban exploration with my wife and we tend go to abandoned psychiatric hospitals. When we went to henryton state hospital in Maryland we went mid summer upper 90's it was cold enough inside we could see our breath even though all the windows were broken. When we went to the basement our flashlights died we went to our backups and they died when we left we discovered both our cell phones had also died.

Camping ??  I'll be keeping my AR-7 + Glock 29 .  Those aero's look like paint ball guns without picatinny rails.

Maybe that's why I like them.

General Discussion / Re: Four reasons not to trust a 1911
September 28 2015 08:19:56 PM MDT
I partially agree while I do carry 1911's. I think a 1911 requires more training to be proficient with and it can be finicky on ammo and mags. I believe other firearms tend to require less effort to get them to run reliably but all this being said I will stick to my 1911's.

I have never rented a gun to be honest and at the time I started shooting I didn't know anyone who did. The first gun I ever shot was a k98 that I bought at 16(I still love mausers) the first handgun I fired I bought at auction and that was an impulse buy.

Gunsmithing / Re: Spring weight
September 24 2015 04:27:38 AM MDT
I use a 18 1/2lb recoil spring, a flat bottom fps and a 25# mainspring in my full size ria 10mm. My commander has a 20lb recoil spring and a 26# mainspring

I'm impressed but I don't shoot at bulletproof glass very often so what's the point?

If it's put on thick it will turn into about honey consistancy

I've been using frog lube for about a year and I suspect it's the same but it works and I like the fact it's not toxic due to kids pregnant wife etc.

I shoot one eye open I struggle to distinguish which eye is picking up the sights without squinting.
